My 2025 Maverick is currently "Shipped". I checked out Ford accessories - looking for a dual dashcam installed.

Ford offers a $699 4K dashcam plus $182 installation.

I checked Amazon ratings for this camera - it's a mediocre 3.8 out of 5 (but note - it's half the price there. What a ripoff by Ford!)

So I went ahead and ordered a reputable Rexing from Best Buy. Installation is $99, altogether I paid $279. Installation is scheduled for January 21 - should have my truck delivered by then. The kit includes installation hardware.

Hi,

Check out Viofo, it's not hard to hard wire it in. There are several U Tube videos that walk you through the process

Solid choice, coming from someone who uses a Rexing V1P in my Mav.

I know, I've done it myself. I installed a Rexing on my son's Stinger. But it's cold now, I'd rather pay $99 to have it done at Best Buy, not worth my inconvenience.

I am thinking about these one of these two, Cobra SC 400D or the Cobra SC 250R.

I looked at that camera and it has good reviews but I'm cheap so I went with a no name duel from amazon for $70. It has 4k front and inside (Im driving for Uber) with Wifi, GPS, WDR, IR, G-sensor and super capacitor. It also uses suction cup mounting so I can take it off when not using. Just had it a little over a week but I'm liking the quality of the video. Here's the link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CX95Z5DS?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

I have a similar setup in my Honda Element which I will be trading for my upcoming Maverick hopefully very soon, and it works (actually, helped me with my December 2023 claim when my car was rear-ended).
For my Maverick though I want a clean installation with no visible wires and no 12V plug.

This is why I was glad I had a rear facing camera.

I’d love to see some pics after the install. Please send an update after you’ve installed it in January.

I hope everyone was okay.
Yeah. Only took the government about 8 months to pay for it. But that was all the insurance company dealing with them. All I did was make the initial claim. Was out my $500 deductible until the feds paid the claim.

I was also waiting a long time for my payment. The offending motorist was underinsured with Geico, and it took them almost 1 year to pay me. I got a check a couple of weeks ago, and the loss was in December 2023.

We had our first serious winter storm in metro Detroit a week or so ago and the freeways were glassed with ice. I was hyper-focused on traffic behaviors behind me , praying that everyone was paying attention to the situation and not following too closely...but after a few miles I opted to exit and take my chances on surface streets (which weren't much clearer but had slower-travelers and less traffic overall). Since the latest BCM update my @LASFIT LED taillights no longer work, so I went back to the OEM bulbs, and with the Leer cap's high-stop lamps I feel like I've done what I can...and then I see the rear dashcam of a USPS vehicle rolling into the rear end of a stopped Maverick and I'm worried all over again.
