Unfortunately, that is NOT what that means. The Mav's mileage computer is dynamic, and projects your range based on your driving style. Stay in electric mode plenty around town? Your miles to empty will go down slowly. Run around on the highway? Your miles to empty will go down quickly. This means my baby truck can go 686 miles before it needs fuel! incredible.
Furthermore, this dynamic calculation is dramatically skewed when there is a lack of data, like in the first days after a new owner picks up their truck (or after you jumpstart the car and reset everything, or after a Ford OTA patch, etc.-- in any of these instances, the truck starts all over again "predicting" your expected mileage).
Bottom line? I was just as excited as the OP in the first weeks after I got my truck, when it seemed like I'd be driving for 700-800+ miles on a tank; alas, as soon as the truck settled in, the numbers became far more realistic, I'm now seeing about 500+ projected on my full tanks (but, it will go up over time as your engine breaks in-- your best average MPG is yet to come, although with winter coming, might need to wait until spring to see it).
That said-- you *can* get some pretty awesome MPG trips in (although, I'll note, this is a 4 mile commute that took me close to 20 minutes, i.e. EVERYBODY saves gas when creeping over maddening D.C. bridge traffic...)
