Ahh, I see. Thanks. I did find the Ford exploded view of how their bracket (17A385) is supposed to be mounted, but it looks like it attaches to the inner fascia (17D957), not the outer (17626). As long as your easy solution doesn't interfere with the front camera, I'm inclined to do the same.

If your state issues 2 license plates, there’s a reason.

It's not the end of the story, though.

Here, after forcing the Mazda dealer to find a way to mount the front plates, I eventually learned that we only require it (NV) if the vehicle comes equipped with it. After a couple of years, I stopped trying to remount.

I don't know why the dealer didn't mount it on my maverick; I need to find out if I need to have it done or not.

My front plate was stolen once, and I made it about 12 hours without it before I was pulled over.

years ago, my parents had to buy a new vehicle (minivan) the day before a long camping trip through Canada, the old van having informed them at the last minute that it wouldn't have been going with them.

They were amazed at the speeds traffic flew down the freeway without getting stopped, yet they had multiple cops turn around to pull them over for no front plates (still only had the temporary rear dealer tag)

My son was pulled over here in Texas for no front plate. He now has it on the dash where you can see it through the front windshield. My wife was also stopped as she had on a plate cover that changed the color of the front plate. Also in the Lariat mounting to anywhere other than in the middle of bumper where Ford indicates will interfere with collision and adaptive cruise control sensors.
