2024 or 2025?

So I'm new to this forum, and I've enjoyed reading through.

I ordered a Hybrid XLT in April, and it's supposed to be manufactured in late June, and I'm excited to get it. My brother in law has a 2023 which is what got me interested.

I've recently read that the 2025 model will become available for pre-ordering in July. I've seen that it will be redesigned, and I'm wondering if anyone on here has an opinion on whether it would be smart to wait for the 2025 to come out or stick with my 2024 order? Any perspective offered would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

We are so close to the 25s at this point. If it wasn't going to be a refresh year then I would say don't wait but since it will be a refreshed version hold off if you can.

Depends on the price increase.

Might have a bigger screen, but seeing how I barely use the screen I have now, not a selling point for me. I've turned into my Dad - 90% of the time when I'm driving, it is in silence.

I say wait especially until we know the price increases for the '25's. I didn't put an "if" in there for obvious reasons. Plenty of time to order a '24 too.
Good point - thanks. I read somewhere that Ford is planning to increase production of the Maverick with the 2025 version. Some think that will stabilize prices, but if there is an increase, might be better to just roll with my 2024.

In my opinion, to be honest, I would never buy a first model year vehicle. Let them work out all the kinks. I know it's just a refresh, but the stuff they're adding. I'm sure will cause havoc somewhere

In my opinion, to be honest, I would never buy a first model year vehicle. Let them work out all the kinks. I know it's just a refresh, but the stuff they're adding. I'm sure will cause havoc somewhere
Exactly the kind of opinion I'm looking for...thank you for that. I hadn't given that much thought. It does seem like most of these changes are going to be cosmetic, though the bigger touch screen will be different for sure. Not sure there will be significant enough changes to worry about the kinks, as you say...but if that's the case, I guess it makes sense to simply roll with the 2024 anyway.

The 25 will be incremental changes, which likely address many of the problems with the vehicles we already bought. That being the case, I wouldn't call it a first model year vehicle. It's one of those things that should produce a better vehicle, but it largely will be the... Exact. Same. Vehicle.

You can let the ‘24 order ride while you decide. You aren’t under any obligation to buy it if it comes in before the ‘25 specs are available. And if the ‘24 comes in before then you will probably know much more than you do now about the ‘25 and can make a more informed decision on features and especially price.

Ford dropped some popular features from ‘22 on the ‘23 model and again from ‘23 to ‘24. That may happen again and one of the ‘24 subtractions might be something you want. For example, some photos appear to indicate the ‘25 will move the climate control functions from buttons to the screen. That alone might change some buyers minds. And if you decide the ‘25 isn’t worth it, you still have that ‘24 order waiting for you. Good luck.

Exactly why I just picked up a 24 because a) 25s will cost more and b) newer tech = more issues. 24s have most the 22 bugs worked out for the most part.

I had a 24 on order and did a lot of digging last weekend and found a Lariat 300 miles away that was a cancelled order so I went and got it. On X plan too with a great trade value for my EB. You might be able to find a 24 on the lot somewhere if you look hard enough like I did.

That's exactly what was thought when the Refresh was done in eighteen for the mustang, which in turn led to a plether of problems even though it was just a refresh and essentially was the same vehicle...


yamaha sho..I'm guessing you have a 92-95 sho...I miss my 3.0 5sp.sho shop big bore butterfly valves intake and exhaust .it was a rev monster..loved the look on gt and slowmaro owners faces when I passed them💀

Good points. I will probably stick with the 24, but I’ve got time to consider it for sure, as mine won’t arrive until late July.

The 25 won’t be any cheaper, and the screen size is not a concern for me. I know the body styling will be updated too, but I like the design of the 22-24 Mavericks anyway. I appreciate all of the replies.
