I am from Southern Alberta, Canada, i ordered my Mav on my birthday Aug/31/2023, i received my truck on April/15/24, first tank of gas gave me 40 mpg ! going to do the 24S27 recall today . i was doing some errands around town yesterday, after coming out of the store i hit the key fob to open doors , nothing !! i hit the horn button , start feature , nothing ! fob was dead ! i went on my Ford App and tried to unlock the doors but no go , no truck found ! after about 15 minutes or so the fob finally worked ! i am sure this will happen again , i called Ford customer service, but nothing he is going to do ! thanks for calling Ford and have a nice day !! anybody else have this issue???

Check the battery cables. Possible one is a little loose, which can result in loss of all electricity to the vehicle.

Plus let the dealer know since it will be in there for recall work already.

After the dealer had done the recall we chatted about the dead key fob , apparently he has heard that some vehicles can be affected by the LED signs around ! I am going to go to the spot again today to see if I get the same effect ! Not sure if this has been documented or not ! Comments ??

The idea of RF interference seems like a real possibility. In theory any device that emits RF has to comply with FCC performance rules in the US, but some inexpensive LED lights may not comply. I have had my hybrid XLT for about four months but not observed anything similar, but am watching this thread to hear more.

Welcome @Fcarl ! Your experience isn't the norm by any means. I know it's a pain to go back to the dealer but at least call them and have them document - which it sounds like you did.

There are known battery problems and cable issues on earlier MY hybrids. Didn't expect 2024's to show those issues - well the cable one at least. I've seen the radio randomly cut out and restart while I'm driving. My brakes in Southern Ontario look like they are going to rot off before they wear out. Other than that it's been a great fuel efficient family vehicle.

I got the low battery level state of charge warning last winter due to the poor quality 12v battery - I drove it enough. The truck still unlocks and starts though, just disables comms to FordPass and remote features.

Your issue might be how a software update was performed in the recall but those seem to be loss of power while driving from what I've read. It's hard to keep all the recall numbers straight on which one is which.

I remember forgetting all kinds of things in the first few weeks of ownership like my door code and not having my FordPass set up correctly - used the US version instead of Canadian when I first got my 2023 hybrid. Those were PEBKAC issues with me not the vehicle.

Did you end up using the key "old school style" with your XLT to unlock and start the truck?

Thanks for all of your replies! My Mav has not repeated this issue as of yet , i did drive to the spot where all went dead , but all was good ! my bad for forgetting the key inside the key fob ! DUH
