Good Morning Maverick owners. Has anyone had an issue when stopping at a complete stop does your eco boost engine turn off then start up when you release the brake?

I’m gonna assume it’s supposedly better for fuel economy and emissions. I personally don’t care for it I think it’s just more wear and tear on the starter and other engine components. I turn mine off when I get in every time.

Studies showed that the amount of gas used to start a vehicle roughly equates to about 10 seconds of idling. So if you are stopped for 10 seconds, it does save gas if the engine shuts off.

I am getting used to it, but when air is on it does it repeatedly at a stop. That I don’t like and turn it off auto.

What’s the benefit of it?

I would not disable the stop/start feature. Benefit = better fuel economy - an idling ICE wastes fuel and obviouly creates green house gas while idling.

In my 22 EB, I learned that when the light turns green, take my foot off the brakes, and slowly move it to the accelerator. This allows the engine to start.

There is a safety benefit - the pause allows drivers who speed through the intersection on the yellow or red light to clear the intersection without T-boning me. I'm never the first one out. I have witnessed several of this type of accident at intersections.

The battery gonna go before starter. Ask me how I know. Wife’s ’17 Escape battery went out. And these not a regular flooded cell type, but the expensive matted battery.

I have a 2024 Lariat. The auto start/stop button is on the dash next to the stereo volume knob. I have made it a habit to disable. Not worth wear and tear on starter, battery and timing chain.

Yep that's the auto start stop button behind your drive mode selection you can turn it off and on by pushing it or you could deactivate it with forscan
