The thing is, I believe most people would not care. Most of my friends do not even use the infotainment preferring to either be blank or just show a clock.

One less distracting thing to take my eyes off the road, and on the to-do list of annoyances to turn off/silence when readying the truck to drive.

I'm 61 and my eyes are getting bad. "Bright enough" is subjective. If your not supposed to look at the screen, why is it there? I guess you never look at your radio or gauge cluster while driving, and having to spend more time trying to read them, is a safety problem. I use the screen to take calls, tell the time, change radio stations, etc, and for me its hard to read, unlike all of the other Fords I've driven. The amount of time that there have been screens in cars, has nothing to do with a screen that won't brighten past 50%.

Happy it's good enough for you, but that doesn't make it any easier for me to see. My local dealer agreed with me, that the Mav screens are not as bright as other Ford models and seem to be stuck at 50%. They are looking into the issue and hopefully, they will find a fix.

It is a safety issue when the screen is not bright enough to see when backing up.

This is a major safety issue especially in the bright sunshine states like Texas and others.

Backing out of a parking spot with the sun shining brightly I cannot see what the backup camera is showing which makes the issue a major safety issue.

LOL! Part of that first paragraph reminded me of a joke Sammy Davis Jr. told on the Johnny Carson show years ago. Essentially it went like this: "Patrolman pulls me over driving through Nevada. Asks me if I know why he pulled me over, and I say no. He says I was speeding. I remind him I only have one eye, and ask him if he wants me to keep it on the road or the speedometer?"

I certainly see issue with ford making these screens adjustable all the way to 100% and then let people turn them down to their preferred settings.

My two takeaways are if Ford is going to have the ability to adjust from 51% to 100% then use it. No reason to have it there if it is not being used.

Secondly, for me I seem to see that being on AppleCarPlay makes the screen a bit dimmer then if nothing is plugged in. Maybe those saying It is too dim use CarPlay or AA mostly and those that say it is bright enough or even too bright do not use it. I dunno.
