2023 XLT Flat towing issues

I recently set up my 2023 XLT (new to me) to flat tow behind my Class A after getting rid of my Ford Fiesta. I did my first tow for about an hour and had no issues setting everything up and getting to my new park. The problem came when I tried to disengage the neutral tow. I followed my owners manual and although the truck appeared to be on park I was getting the msg Neutral tow engaged. Settings showed Neutral tow shaded out. A FB contact in a Maverick group suggested unhooking the negative terminal on the battery under the back seat which reset the computer. Others say 2023's are known to have issues disengaging because of incorrect key placement? Any 2023 XLT owners care to help out? Don't want to have to disconnect battery everytime. Thanks,

Probably not much help for your 2023 but to exit neutral tow on my 2025 AWD Hybrid I simply jump in and start the Maverick press the brake pedal and put it in drive…

Thanks. I am specifically looking for other 2023 owners since I've been told that year has had some issues previously discussed on this site. I looked but was unable to find anything. Not sure if your 2025 is a push start or key but my 2023 is a key which stayed in while flat towing.
