2023 XL getting weird battery messages suddenly

I have had my 2023 Maverick XL for about 11 months. A few weeks ago they had to do 2 software updates. One was to fix an emissions issue and the other was a recall for the tail lights. Today my Ford app showed notification. I got the 3:42 PM saying my truck had entered Deep Sleep mode. Later I got a 9:04 PM message about remote features disabled. Later my app showed "Drive your vehicle to reconnect to FordPass and exit battery saver mode.

I have had my truck for 11 months and never got these messages before. Is this tied to the software updates or did something else fail/die? I would appreciate any input.

It's because the stock batteries suck.
They were supposed to be 36 month batteries but in real life they are more like 12 month batteries. Buy a top notch battery of some other brand. There's over 900 posts about this.

I have just started getting the same on my 2022 fx4 with almost 75,000 miles but no starting problems yet and yes I believe it probably is the battery as many have had issues.

Cyberwiz64, the dealer may have contributed to battery drain during your update.

Put your truck on a battery tender overnight. Then, reset the BMS the next day. Read the manual for instructions on resetting the Battery Monitoring System.

If this doesn't help, you may be looking at battery replacement.

Same thing happen to me twice, probably like they said bad battery in cheap truck, now I use ford app to start truck every day since I don’t use truck everyday.since then it hasn’t happened .

Had my battery replaced by Ford at 8k miles. At 12k miles now getting deep sleep messages again. Back to the dealership next week!

Hey there. Are you still receiving these error messages? If so, can you please send over a message with your VIN and estimated mileage so I can look into this on my end?

Had my battery replaced by Ford at 8k miles. At 12k miles now getting deep sleep messages again. Back to the dealership next week!
Ford's replacement battery does not have enough capacity for the hybrid. Ford's battery is only 27 aH. Many Mav owners are putting in a 3rd party battery with 52 aH.

Took it to the dealer. Replaced battery and reprogrammed the BCM. All good.

If it happens again, please purchase your own top of the line battery, reset the BMS and then you'll be good to go. Trust all of us and save yourself a lot of headaches.

Battery Management System. I will let someone more familiar with the system go over it and tell you how to reset it.

What is BMS and how is it reset?
Pages 317-321 of the owners manual can explain it. Your car is basically a computer on wheels. It has been program to send electricity to your 12v battery for a specific type which is an AGM battery. During production of your truck, availability for AGM batteries became an issue. A different battery with different specifications was installed. Takes about 8 months to a year to develop the "sleep" issue. Install an AGM or better battery, reset the BMS (pages 317-321 tells you how) then you will be a BMF! And I hope you know what a BMF is! (smiles)
