I am in SE Texas - the epicenter of global warming -. I am wondering if anyone has dealt with the Maverick 2.0 in 100+ degree heat in slow to none moving traffic to confirm that the A/C does indeed stay on.

I owned a 2014 2.0 Ford Fusion (very dif engine of course) and it DID shut off the A/C during high ambient temperatures.

This is a critical item to me! Has anyone had any experience with this?

You might be confused about something. I am in Phoenix and I have been in 118 degree temps and it works great, even at idle. I have never experienced a/c shut off on any car related to ambient temps that was otherwise a normally working system. Except when auto start/stop is active, and on most cars that system won't go active in temps north of 105 anyway. I am not sure what the cutoff is on the Maverick since I turn mine off with every start anyway.

We live in south Florida and have been very pleased with the A/C on the Maverick. It stays cold at a stop. Gets very cold. Leaps and bounds better than any other 4 cylinder I've had. What I find is auto start stop doesn't come on much do to heat, especially initially until the vehicle cools down. From Ford:

"Auto Start-Stop may not shut your engine off if your vehicle battery is charging, the engine is still warming up, or if you’re using heat or air conditioning"

We had a CMax that would cut off in high heat. So it does happen, though it's prob not supposed to.

It was over 100 here last week and it never skipped a beat. Mine is all black and was roasting in the sun all day, too. The remote start app had the a/c blasting for me when I got in and it stayed nice and cool, no cut offs. fun fact: If you have an apple watch you can start your mav from the watch. Love that feature.

Mine has never skipped a beat either. Cabin Air Filter was pretty nasty by 12k though, so I replaced it. Make sure you don't get some Amazon cheap brand, they are usually way too thick and you will notice it instantly the way it fluctuates. Since I replaced it with an OEM one it's been solid.

I ran it hard for week at temps of between 105-119. High speed driving, idling, whatever A/C worked enough to not need max most of the time. And im a hot running fat guy.

What I have noticed is with the auto shutoff at a stop light with the a/c on is if I does shut the truck off... The a/c will still blow just not quite as cold. But sometimes the truck will just start itself even while you're still stopped and then the AC goes back to whatever setting blast you had it on also if you have the AC kind of turned down low in the vehicle shuts off even just turn the dialing on the blower up just one notch it'll restart the truck so I don't think the AC would be an issue even in high heat

I live in Fresno where we have temps up to 115, it hasnt been under triple digits for around a month except for maybe a day or two. AC in the mav has been fantastic in this heat, even during long drives down to LA and the Bay area. Sometimes even gets too cold lol, and I absolutely love the max ac button too.

On a side note, we picked up a 2023 Tundra 1794 and the AC on that thing is horrendous, even with the ventilated seats it just does not cool you off enough even when turned on low temp at full blast for a long time.

I have a 2013 Fusion with the 2.0 EcoBoost engine, and have never seen the air cut off just because the outside temperature is high. Is yours in need of maintenance or something?

And I thought Dallas was the epi center. Not sure who I am happier for.

We have been experiencing the same heat wave you have, sans the Houston humidity, and mine has done just fine on the hour long I-35 drive out of downtown.

What I have noticed is that the Maverick will slow down the a/c fan speed if you pick up or make a phone call through the Sync system. I live in central Florida and the a/c hasn’t missed a beat. I don’t use max air either except to cool it down after it has sat in the sun for a while.

I am currently in South Texas on family reunion trip . Monday the temp display read 106 and the air-conditioning worked fine . When at rest in traffic or at stop light for awhile it does run slower and warmer but not an issue . So far no complaints . We drove down from CT . Damn it’s hot here !!
