My truck should be delivered soon. While looking at a friend's truck, I noticed the climate control has a Recirculate button and a MAX A/C button. Do each of these buttons accomplish the same thing when using A/C, or does the MAX A/C setting do something more, in addition to recirculating cabin air?

Max ac put the setting to the coldest and max fan. Recirculate work sometimes. Depends on what the sensors read as humidity in the truck.

Max A/C sets the recirculation to on, fans to high, and temp to LO. It's a great one-button setting to get the truck initially cooled off, but you will be turning that mode off within a few minutes because Ford.

The recirculation button can toggle the recirculation regardless of how you have the temp set. I find it more helpful during pollen season as it does what it says on the tin, recirculates the cabin air. It makes it easier to keep the cabin cool as the A/C is cooling cool air. Not that any vehicle from Ford needs A/C help; I found it more useful for that function in the Saturn.

Thanks
From what I've read on the matter, MAX A/C locks the recirculated air setting on. If you put recirculate and A/C instead, the computer can automatically determine there's too much moisture in the system and deactivate the recirculation. I can't speak to if there are any other differences.

MAX A/C will activate recirculate, max fan, and lowest temperature setting (60*). It works extremely well here in Hades, I mean Central Texas ;) I engage the recirculate during normal driving to, as already mentioned, keep out the pollen. I also utilize it when I see road sweepers, mowers, tar layers smoking, dust storms, smoke from fires, etc.... down the road in front of me to keep from sucking all of that crappy air into my cabin ;)

Thanks for the clarification, y'all. Now I know the two buttons aren't redundant.

@Shakesbear, I also use Recirc. to stop dust, pollen, smoke and fumes from entering the vehicle. But most importantly, to keep out the humidity when running the A/C. Makes a huge comfort difference, here in the steamy Ozarks.

I am driving a 2022 XL Ecoboost. Commander Bob said well. At any fan speed and temperature setting, the recirculate button will facilitate faster cooling. I use the button to keep out smells, pollen, pollution, etc. The Max AC button opens the system all the way. I can't leave it on too long or folks get cold. Ford has the best AC and heating design I've experienced in a vehicle.

I'm familiar with the recirculate button and use it frequently. I didn't know using Max AC automatically recirculated, but of course, that makes perfect sense.
I have to agree about the quality of the AC in the Maverick. That 7 speed fan cools down the cabin quickly.

When in the normal AC position the fan draws air from the outside of your vehicle into to the evaporator and vents some air out eliminating foul smells like cigarette smoke body odor etc. Just like the vent air out on your house unit. Both Max and normal should go through the filter.

Great point about using the recirculate to keep out the humidity. Makes a significant difference in cool down time. By the way, it seems your Arkansas humidity has migrated its way to CA. :sneaky:

Also on recirculate you can have the foot vents on. When you select max it’s only the dash vents available. I got sweaty feet so I use recirc.
