I did, that's why I posted what I did, y'all "Hot Doggies" blow past me like I'm chained to the lamp post but when I coast into the traffic light just as it's turned green there you are in front of me, yeah you got there first but I'll see you at the next light same thing I'm not mashing the brakes, just using engine braking and recharging the battery, yes your driving habits SUCK!
I think he is referring to the OP fact is NOT driving a hybrid but a regular gas that has no regen braking so it doesn't apply to the OP problem. Putting in anything about hybrid is another subject to the thread.

I have 15K miles on my 22 xlt fx4 and the brakes sound destroyed.
I called the dealer and they said a TSB is present stating the components used in the brake pads will corrode if it is left out side when parked?????
They had no resolution other than a 39.00 brake inspection and 800 per axle to replace the pads.
I am not to sure about keeping this truck anymore.
Any input would be helpful prior to dropping it off on 12/12.
Thank you
So, what did you end up doing about brakes??

I have an appointment in two days to drop it at the dealership I have called ford to ask what the resolution is and all they would tell me is I am sorry would you like to file a complaint? After many rounds of me asking what is the fix to the problem that they are aware of and getting the same answer of I am sorry would you like to file a complaint I let them know to call me back when they had an answer and that they were not helping.
maybe I should’ve just said yes I want to file a complaint ?? What for I am not sure but maybe I could have spoke to someone different with the correct answers.

What are you expecting a CS rep on the phone to do? They don't have crystal balls.
We've already mentioned posting pictures on here for everyone to see and possible give you some feedback- but you haven't.

People have asked for more info, yet the only post from you was a smart ass read the post before responding. If you want help, reply to the people that are trying otherwise, let everyone know in the first post you're just ranting and don't want help so everyone doesn't waste time.

ya, complain about the price! 800 per axle is obsoletely ludicrous.

Heheh, I know people who get a new vehicle when they need tires.
:D
It’s not due to the brake pads it everything leading up to this point including bad service at the dealership.
I am tired of dealing w
Are you doing stupid things like 2-foot driving? 15k miles is awfully low for a brake job. It sounds like one of: you're listening to rusted rotors from not using them at all, you're riding the brakes, you have a stuck brake or slider and wore one side down, or you're awfully hard on them and need to stop driving like its a race car. Take it to a mechanic if you're not comfortable doing your own brake inspections. Brakes normally last at least 50k miles even in severe duty. Most people get 60-80k on them in a gas model, and at least 100k on the hybrid.
None of the above are happening I drive slow and mellow hence questioning the occurrence at 15 k.

I don’t feel it was a smart ass comment and I am not sure how to post pictures so assuming is inappropriate beside the fact I am lucky to find my way back to this site to begin with.
Thank you for your assistance though.

Looking forward also eventually a youtube doing a brake pads on the mavericks, watching the mainteance mode being put in place. Hope we don't have to use a software program to when doing the brake pad job.

Brakes are a wear component and no idea how you drive your vehicle but 15k miles seems a little too quick.

Whenever it comes time to do my brakes I always upgrade the pads to Wagner Severe Duty or ThermaQuiets.

$800 is a rip off for only pads. I can swap them out for you in an hour and drink a few beers doing it.

I wouldn't sell my truck because of some worn brake pads but to each their own!
Right, the front brakes can be replaced in a short time. The rear brakes though, as I been reading need to have them put into mainteance mode, so the emergency brakes won't be ruined.
And you need a computer and program to do it, as reading on this cite identified that.

Don't know if it is true because haven't seen any video on youtube seeing someone doing the rear brakes. Have you? I want to be ready with the knowledge when the time arrives for me.
