I've read where many here are discussing "issues" with keeping their 12 volt AGM batteries
charged and or how to keep them up when truck is parked for some time.

Well, I don't know IF CTEK's have been talked about, but, I haven't seen anything yet.
I have lots of experience with them since I've been using CTEK chargers/tenders for
many years for all kinds of vehicles, non hybrids, AGM's and reg. 12 volt batteries. AGM's are
acid batteries in case some don't know. It's just how the acid is "held within the cells" and they
do have more staying power, but, they need cared for just like any other acid battery.

CTEK is an outstanding, high tech Swedish company established in 1997. Sold in over 60 countries.
Microprocessors used to properly charge, desulfation, for many types of vehicles.
A well respected company and their units are used by Ferrari, Corvettes, and others. They have their
name plate put on the front, but, it's the same CTEK we can buy. Have you ever seen a pic inside Jay
Leno's "hangers" where all his vehicles are shown, parked, etc?? All the vehicles that he or staff drive often,
but, do set for a time....have you seen the "cords" running from each vehicle to a wall socket?? Those
are ALL CTEK charger/tenders! He must have at least 100 of them.

I use the provided leads to directly connect to the battery. You can keep it plugged in all the time....when
fully charged etc, it keeps the battery at a proper level. It's perfectly protected and safe.
The great part is they are NOT expensive. Around $100. Currently I have 2, one for my Lobo and 1 for my
Acura MDX. Both are AGM batteries, so, the CTEK's are the same part #.

IF Ferrari and Jay Leno trust them....well then....good enough for me and you guys. LOL!!

My Noco Genius 1 was $30 and pulse charges/de sulfates nice and slow at one amp.
Plus a Just right charge voltage and peak VDC for AGM’s
And a very accurate charge voltage/temperature compensation, I peaked during 8 degree weather.

$29.95 at WallyWorld.

Glad you are happy with it. But, I'll take CTEK's technology gurus and their many years
of making this product over "WallyWorld's" China co. Can't buy a decent meal at a rest.
for $30.
Have a great week.

I've heard good things about CTEK, but Noco is a great, reputable company. Nothing to do with Walmart, specifically.

Walmart is simply the ‘Company Store’
They make nothing, they sell other people’s stuff.

‘CTEK’
“Designed and Developed in Sweden by CTEC SWEEDEN AB. Tag on bottom says "Country of Origin - China".

And I found this:

“While the engineering and testing occur in Dalarna, Sweden, the manufacturing of many of their chargers takes place in China and sometimes Malaysia

Um that says ‘CHINA’

ROFLMAO

Now the Noco’s :

The NOCO Genius 1 (GENIUS1) battery charger is designed and engineered in the USA (specifically Glenwillow, Ohio) but is manufactured in China. While some users have noted packaging indicating assembly in Vietnam, the consensus indicates manufacturing in China for the current generation.

At least my Noco was designed and engineered in the USA so a little bit of my $30 stays here.

I’ll take my technology gurus over Sweden’s or anybody else’s tech people any day.
We walked on the moon. How many other Nations have done that ?

We built the SR-71 Blackbird,,,,,
That should cover it.

Your dollars go to Sweden then China.

You have a great week also. :’P

I have no connection to any mfr of battery chargers/maintainers. There are probably several good brands. The one I've been using for many years is Battery Tender (BT). I have 4-5 of them. The oldest one is from around 2009, is in constant use, and still works fine. A second one (their least expensive model) is almost as old, permanently connected to my motorcycle, and still works great.

BT makes dozens of different models:
https://www.batterytender.com/collections/battery-chargers

I have enough battery chargers, but if I didn't I'd consider this "15/8/2 AMP Power Tender® Selectable 12V Battery Charger":
https://www.batterytender.com/produ...mp-2-amp-selectable-chemistry-battery-charger

It's charger and maintainer

Battery Minder is another good brand. CTEK sounds decent, but I haven't looked into them.

Reviews of NOCO products are mixed. Some people think they are great, while others report early failures and poor customer service (incl. reviews on Ford's website). Something that is concerning about NOCO is that a) they use proprietary connectors (vs std. 12V SAE) and b) they charge extra for accessories that are included with BT and Battery Minder. Last I saw, a simple adapter to switch to SAE cost $20! If BT and Battery Minder use SAE connectors, NOCO can too -- instead, they choose to play gotcha games.

I've used Noco for a long time without ever an issue.
It replaced a battery tender that overcharged and killed a battery.

A CTEK could also be a good unit, but I don't own a Ferrari or have Jay Leno's budget.
I doubt that the build between the two is different enough to justify the price.

I'm sure that a gold screwdriver set would have less corrosion, but do no better job of tightening a fastener. Just because something is more expensive doesn't mean it's intrinsically better.

Case in point.
A Range Rover is a lot more expensive than a Maverick, but has terrible reliability ratings.
Down there with the Rover is the Volvo V60 wagon.
Pricey and one of the most unreliable wagons on the road.
Made in Sweden too.....

You have a great week also brother :’P
I'm not your "brother." Thank God! Just because you have

CTEK developed the FIRST microprocessor based charger and revolutionized the battery
care world.

WRONG. Dalarma is where the inventor, Bengt Wahlzuist FIRST developed the product.
Now it's all in Falun, Sweden.
Your research comes up short on "true facts."

So funny. So, the tech, development etc, in Sweden but, assembled elsewhere somehow makes
them "less" quality than your product that is ALSO designed outside of China...BUT...made in China??

Think I'm stupid? Walmart of course doesn't make a darn thing. They buy from wherever!!

So, in your thoughts, ONLY US can make quality tech?? It does....but, I've traveled the world and
I know what can be had from other countries. IF Ferrari and many other "high end" vehicles buy
CTEK's and put their Ferrari logo on them, then they are no good??? That's laughable.
Gee, I wonder IF they have any NOCO's on any Ferraris, Porches, Lambos, Rolls, etc??? LOL!!

You don't like hearing about other points of view apparently. Only yours is right?? Wrong....!

And don't try to "school ME" on SR-71's! Or U2's for that matter. Have your ever been "up front
and personal with either or both of these spy planes?? I HAVE!! More than once. And I toured the
"skunk works" where they were conceived, all while I was in the Air Force. Yes, I had a Security
Clearance!

Do you have a cellphone? Computer equipment, etc. Where are most of your $$ going with those purchases. Most everything sold at Walmart, and many others is made in CHINA.
Our country got away from building here since labor was so much cheaper and thus profits
could stay up. Anything designed, engineered and sold in the U.S. is more expensive, sadly.

So, don't try and give me a lesson on where stuff is designed, and built and where money goes.
You better check your own house and realize just how much YOU are sending to China and other
Asian countries every day of your life. It's just the way it is for now.

You must think you are the "guru" of this website. I don't care how many posts you've made,
just means you have more time on your hands than most others, so you live a big part of your life
on here. Not saying you don't have some "redeemable qualities" but, let's be honest.....yours is not
the only and final say on all subjects!! Well known due to the # of posts, etc. So what. You flood
the site...that makes you "well known"....wow, I'm so impressed. Could also have a negative
connotation....LOL!

Don't like being challenged.....but, you need to come up with better research to rebut or make
a different point or claim.

Some like certain car colors and will defend to the end....just like black wheels! So many say they
are "the best" look possible. LOL...according to who's looking at them.

Different strokes for different folks. We all need to listen and study opposing points of views.

Now, I've devoted enough of my time with this particular subject, esp. with you. I've made my points, and you sure have made yours. But, I'm done here. But, not done with this great site.

Hmmm...something tells me you are not done....with me. I don't care personally.....you just won't
get any more of my time since you don't deserve it, because you don't know how to properly
research, and you make bad comparisons on costs.....pricing, etc.

Enjoy your NOCO and I will continue to appreciate and glad that I have bought CTEK's for many
years. Oh, Jay Leno thanks them too. AND so do the auto companies in the next paragraph!!

Many of the world's largest, most prestigious, and luxury car manufacturers use CTEK, including Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Rolls-Royce, Chevrolet (Corvette), Alfa Romeo, Maserati, and Mercedes.

The NOCO charger that matches, or tries, the CTEK costs $99.95!! So, don't try comparing
apples to oranges and try fooling folks here. Depending on who's selling, prices can vary,
just like CTEK's, but, approx. $100 for them. $29.95 is NOT the same one. You picked the
cheapest NOCO makes to compare with. Bad boy! LOL!!

You can own any vehicle, CTEK has the one. The reference was to show that the quality and
long term value that collectors pay big money for in expensive cars also demand quality
chargers/maintainers. They are sold in over 70 countries.

So, Sweden can't have a "big winner" when it comes to tech? Obviously they can, have and do.

Take the time and look in to CTEK. First company to develop microprocessor battery chargers/
tenders in this class of chargers. They started it all. Other's followed.

The price of the "equivalent type charger/tender" from NOCO is same as the CTEK.
Just in my ownership and opinion, CTEK does it better overall.

A quick search indicates that CTEK units are very good and have advanced features. Battery Tender (BT) also continues to get great reviews and is a less expensive option for basic battery maintenance. IOW, if a person needs the additional features of the CTEK they should buy it -- but for those looking for a well designed, reliable, maintainer the BT remains a good choice.

I have no need for any more maintainers, but if I did I'd definitely look closer at CTEK. To be fair to BT, they have numerous models and some may have similar features -- they are not all basic -- so I'd look at them as well. For example, this one looks good for $150:
https://www.batterytender.com/products/battery-tender®-12v-15-amp-8-amp-2-amp-selectable-chemistry-battery-charger

That's just one. If I was in the market I'd do a deep dive.

All I originally wanted to point out was that The $30 Genius 1 was adequate for the simple task at hand for half the price.
You brought up where my choice was produced, same place as yours right !

I didn’t expect such a reaction. Relax,
Your CTEK equipment is far superior to anything I could know about.
Your wisdom is recognized.

I sincerely apologize.

I’m on a different level, I have a
$7.99 VOM from Harbor Freight. It does all I need around the house or on my vehicles.
I had an Oscilloscope once, don’t need heavy tech anymore.
It was designed and built in this country.
It was replaced with that $8 VOM long ago.
