At least we can share experiences like this and offer each other a small amount of warning to steer clear of shady half wit dealers.

If I hadn’t found Long MacArthur I wouldn’t be buying a ford. I was ready to buy a RAV4 hybrid and a small trailer for the few times I need to haul lawnmowers or lumber. I’d found a dealer in New Haven CT that sold at msrp.

Last month Bill said he’d zero luck getting the dealer to have him moved up to a 2, which requires a phone call by his dealer or sales manager to regional ford corporate. Dealer told him he couldn’t. Plainly wrong info. Dealer also told him they had 10 allocations and 10 orders. Also sounds like a lie since his XL didn’t get scheduled.

There are at least a few partial truths in the story because it doesn’t add up. Dealers like his should have consequences for what they do to people but instead they get rewarded with a desirable vehicle they can mark up and put on the lot.

Times have changed and the only reason many dealers like Bills are still in business is because generations ago they had laws made to require manufacturers to use them.
For now @Bill Quattlebaum is the one that has to pay, not his dealer.

To add insult to injury, I got another 45 day email saying Ford is still having supply chain issues! It seems they are having the issues on the XL's and not on the other models!

orders less than 6 months old are getting scheduled with priority 10 and mine at 03 is getting left out.

Priority 03 through 19 only matters for your specific dealership. You have to get your priority to 02 to make a difference with orders from other dealers.

I assume that's 10 allocations for the MY 24 production which is scheduled for 13 months. That means at least 3 months they will get no allocations. And depending upon when last years sales came in, there could be more than 3 with no allocations.

And even if the dealer gets an allocation, if there are not enough XL parts, he will get skipped over and another of the 10 customers will get scheduled.

Could be. Im guilty of assuming that was 10 for Jan/Feb production. Wow. 10 for MY '24 would be a horrible situation to be stuck in.

Allocation system was designed when most orders are for dealer stock. I does not work fairly for the customers when everything is retail orders.

I was told 10 allocations for the 23 orders, which became rollovers for 24. I was #6 out of 10. That was not 10 allocations for a month. This is a small dealer than sells mostly F-150's. I like the dealer and have had service on my Ranger there.

Yes, the order date is correct. I went to my dealership the evening of 11/29 and they sent me the order sheet the next morning for my signature. I feel extremely lucky.
