Same here, considered buying a Mustang as you can still get a stick shift, drove a couple of them - wasn't impressed, just felt like an old American car. Now driving an EcoSport - can still downshift when slowing and put it in Neutral when stopped etc. but the muscles in my left leg are...
I'm wondering if this is what Customer Service meant:
'The EPAS system has a Pull Drift Compensation (PDC) feature to assist drivers in compensating for variation in road and driving conditions. The feature adjusts power assist offset by reducing the steering wheel effort (input torque) required...
I believe it's a federal requirement that all vehicles with AC must have the cabin vented to prevent the occupants from being suffocated by a refrigerant leak.
I remember from a couple of decades ago small dings and scratches could be repaired by the port processor, anything over $250 worth of damage the vehicle could not be sold as 'new'.
I'm 6'2", hope I don't have a problem with the Lariat, I've had this problem with other vehicles - the rear view mirror can completely obscure a car on the right at a 4-way, after a near collision I learned to duck my head down to check.
Do you have different ride heights with the 'bagged' suspension? I'm familiar with the Range Rover with Access - Normal - Low Profile (above 50mph) and Extend for off road.
I suppose I should defend the poor EcoSport, I’ve been reluctantly driving on for over a year now while waiting for my Maverick (ordered 11-1-21)! I needed a vehicle as my perfect Mazda CX-3 got totaled and they don’t import them anymore.
Asked the local Ford dealer for the cheapest thing he...
Only the 2.5L hybrid can be flat towed - there is a procedure in the owners manual. Unfortunately that is the hardest to find, I've had a Lariat hybrid on order since November 2021, hopefully being built next month! XT/XLT are easier, I would have ordered an XT if it had a push button start...
It looks like a regular top battery post, what you are trying to do is be able to connect the DVOM in series without breaking the connection and having to reset everything and start again, you may need a bit of dexterity with the hybrid battery buried under the seat.
You will need a short jumper...
Thinking about Reserve Capacity, the OE Motorcraft battery is rated for 65 minutes @ 25 amps, by my (suspect) calculations that is about 22 days before the battery is discharged to 10.5 volts, @ a worst case quiescent current draw of 50mA. Of course this is for a fully charged good battery and...
To check for voltage drop in a circuit you need to set your DVOM to a low volt scale and connect one lead to the battery terminal and to other to the to your test point (chassis ground if you are checking the -ive side or a 12 volt terminal for the +ive side), volts should be zero with no loads...
The Ford WSM says that the parasitic draw should be 25 to 50mA, over 50mA should be investigated, seems a bit high to me, many modern vehicles have less than 20mA when in sleep mode.
Parasitic Draw Test procedure attached:
Had our first 100 degree days here in the Mohave Valley last week, probably 115 by the time I get my Lariat Hybrid (build date 5/4)! Good test for the AC, does anyone know if you can switch on the AC remotely with out starting the engine? Perhaps I won't need the oven mitt to drive it!
