I've done 3 trips now with our 2700lb trailer and the worst economy I've seen is 12.8l/100km into a headwind and that included a 12.5 km climb of 8% gradient.
Also, if you haven't done so already check with your dealer about the recall on the brake controller.
some more from this weekend.. 274km, 13 of which were uphill on 8% gradient, dash recorded 10.9l/100km (21.5mpg), hand calculated at 10.3 (22.8mpg). Not too shabby!
ran it on regular. our trailer brake issue is separate from the recall, we have a software issue where there is no way to store the gain controls, I was hoping the recall would fix it but no such luck. the manual slider does still activate the brakes though so I do use it when necessary on...
If we lived anywhere else I would probably get AC, we may do eventually anyway as we are planning longer desert bound trips in the next few years. We spent almost 25 years tenting together before we bit the bullet and prioritized comfort over low cost. Onboard toilet and a bed that stays in...
XLT Lux 4k. Heated seats and steering wheel are really nice to have when its -30 outside, cruise was a must for us, we got the full size spare as we'll be towing a lot and rolling on a donut with a 2700lb TT behind is not confidence inspiring. I would have stepped up to the Lariat but the...
I only found out about the recall because I noted that no gain controls were appearing when the trailer was hooked up. I did some googling and found out about the recall, the truck went in and I hoped that would be the fix, sadly not. Still waiting...
Yep, removeable and washable. We looked at buying a new one back in September 2021 and anticipated delivery at that time was June 2022, managed to find a lightly used 2017 model local so snapped it up.
Took our Prolite Escapade for a little trip out this weekend, over the 266km round trip we averaged 12.1 L/100km (165miles/19.4mpg) at a steady 100km/h (60mph) I'm pretty happy with that considering the trip out was into a pretty strong headwind. Loaded up the trailer tipped the scales at 2700lbs
100% avoidable accident. Yes the Jeep driver attempted to perform an illegal maneuver but the Mav driver had plenty of time to avoid that collision. Defensive driving saves headaches and sometimes lives.
As of today we are still without a fix to this issue although Ford Canada have assigned us a "Tech" that will liase with our dealer to get things moving. Definitely sounds like we have the same issue, I have even sent youtube footage to our rep at Ford Canada of what should happen on the dash...
