Not really fair to compare the Maverick to either of those, particularly the Prius. There's a large difference in power and aerodynamics.
Now that the new 2023 Prius has 194-196HP (and is expected to also average 57) and the new Prius Prime is at 220, I'm planning to order one. I suspect they...
To be fair, the XL I owned had less squeaks/rattles than this Lariat. Some of it could be that it was warm then and is cold now. The Lariat also has a stiffer ride than the XL.
Yes... h/k, JBL, Infinity, Mark Levinson, B&O.. they own many of the premium systems you see in cars from $20k to six figures. But that doesn't make them all on the same level.
There are other alternative hybrids, and with AWD, for around the same price as a fully loaded Maverick hybrid. But they are not trucks. I only listed off a few SUVs. If you needed more people space you could also look at Camry Hybrids.. excellent fuel efficiency and plenty of space.
Take a trip to your local dealer and park your Maverick beside one of these. Open/close doors. Sit in the seats. Check out the panel gaps. Operate the switchgear.
You and I have different ideas of what build quality means. You are obviously OK with anything that is functional. I have higher...
Too small for cargo or people? The Nissan Kicks passenger space, particularly in the rear, seems superior to the Maverick. I don't endorse the idea of buying a Kicks but I did rent one for 4 months. It's not a great vehicle but has good room and seat comfort front/back for people.
As for other...
I'm not sure what you even mean by this comment. I've got experience with the Maverick XL EB, the Maverick Lariat Hybrid, a low trim Corolla and a top spec Civic. I gave you my thoughts on each. The Maverick's cheap interior plastics squeak/rattle more than any other new vehicle I've ever owned...
It's speculation, but the Lariat does have ambient lighting that the XLT does not. Perhaps that's why the only people reporting issues with this are Lariat owners that I can find?
I'll have to try increasing the distance. I've had many ACC cars, and none of them truly operate like a human but this one is the worst in stop-and-go.
I know the Maverick can do stop-and-go with ACC, but yours does this smoothly? Mine is basically unusable for this purpose. Way, way too jerky with braking.
What are your comparison vehicles?
The truly standout systems my husband and I have owned over the years have been, in no particular order - the (really stunning for the price) ELS 3D system in our Integra, a Mark Levinson system in a Lexus ES, a Lexicon system in a Genesis, and a...
I don't mean for this to sound snarky, but what does "build quality" mean to you? Is it about everything working? Because to me there's more to it than that.
I've elaborated more on this in other places, but as my parents enter retirement we've put them in two of the Maverick's common...
Agreed 100%. I gave you my honest opinion that was not flattering to the truck, but take that with a grain of salt - most people here absolutely love the thing.
I have owned a Lariat Lux for almost 1 month. I owned an XL for a month. Here is my take:
1 - I was under the impression the XL and Lariat seats were the same structurally and padding wise - just skinned differently. I am not convinced of that now. I prefer the seats in the XL. The Lariat is...
Why would a non-hybrid make more sense just because the hybrid loses some efficiency in cold weather or at highway speeds? For early orders, the hybrid was automatically $1100 cheaper.
As I noted earlier in the thread, my Lariat Lux is averaging 33.9mpg over 3,700 miles and in conditions that...
