Just to update this - they really mean it when they said Q4 2024. This XLT Hybrid that was built is still sitting in Delaware where it has been since 2/16/2024. There was no ordering a replacement truck without losing the private offer, per the dealer.
Love Key West. Mad respect for the 4Runner - for what it is. An indestructible appliance that holds its value insanely well. Not sure I agree that the gas mileage can be overlooked because this is an "upgrade" - I have a friend with a 2018 4Runner that gets 15mpg consistently.
It is both a pro...
I ordered a Cyber Orange Lariat Luxury Hybrid in 10/2021 from Ed in PA. So, it had all the options and an extra cost paint color. My price was $29,600 plus tax.
Of the 4 Mavericks I have owned, the Lariat was - by far - my least favorite. I am a person who typically buys top trim, fully...
Actually, I sold more than one. I made about $26,000 in profit after capital gains taxes. So I'd call that a win, though I didn't actually go into it with that being the intention.
This one, though, is not for sale or even for me. I just thought I'd chime in here.
We had an XLT Hybrid from MY23 rollover to MY24 with Ed at Chapman that we're buying for a friend. It was produced 1/20 and has been sitting in Delaware since 2/16. That it might sit there at the rail yard until the end of the year is insane.
It was pretty easy to sell the XL EB back in April of 2022 and also easy to get a large trade value on the Lariat hybrid. This 2023 XL hybrid took some work. You may be better off to hold for now until Carvana algorithms start buying cars. Their manual appraisals suck.
But also - the Maverick...
Ummm... I'm sure if you had read my post you'd have seen that I said $26,500 was how much more I sold/traded them for and $16,000 was the AFTER tax profit.
You guys have got to get off this tax bandwagon bullshit. Taxes are inevitable and the argument that you shouldn't sell your vehicle for...
This tax argument is made frequently and is flawed. Just because you must pay tax does not mean the profit you do make is not worth it. You also assume that you'll be getting back in line for the same vehicle - but what if you're not waiting on another Maverick? Also, I'd consider $5,000 on the...
Pricing is weird and can vary wildly day by day. I have sold 2 and traded 1 Maverick in the past year, though never purchased with the intent of flipping. Though I think if you have the means and the know how to do it, why not?
2023 XL Hybrid - Paid $21,750 OTD after $2750 rebate & 3% under...
I am so happy to see you finally be scheduled. Back when order banks opened in September, I ordered a silver XL Hybrid for a family member from a dealer local to me. That one is also scheduled for week of 5/8. That means I've owned 3 Mavericks and have another on the way (though not for me) in...
@carmigo had a great idea and we sold 2 of our vehicles through them last year. Now, however, they are in the crapper. They removed the transparency so you cannot watch bids come in live. They now just present you with terrible offers made by what a cursory google search shows to be possibly buy...
Plenty of people like Mavericks, but money talks. I wouldn't sell it for $2-3000 over what I paid, either. But for $10k plus? The Maverick is good but it isn't turn-down-50%-profit good.
You do you and let the rest of us worry about ourselves. We're free to buy and sell as many as we...
I've been offered $34,000 for my 2023 XL Hybrid.. I financed 100% of the truck, taxes, everything and the payoff is $21,750.
Going to be hard to turn that down.
Our current stable. Acura photo from press shot since no good photo of it. I love them all.
2020 Macan S - 34,000 miles
2023 Integra 6MT - 11,000 miles
2023 XL Hybrid - 2,100 miles
Our Maverick is not AWD, but a FWD hybrid. It gets pushed around a little bit by winds but high speed stability does not seem to be any worse than our Macan, which is like a tank. That's high praise for the Maverick.
Ford isn't the problem here, it's your dealer. Mine had no issue with applying the private offer. It is not like this is manual labor, it is a few keystrokes. Your dealer sucks but it sounds like they have the upper hand here. Go ahead and see if you can get Ford CS involved. Otherwise you're...
