Just some info to ponder: strike pay for UAW members on strike is $500/week. Thatās probably less than half their normal pay and you have to be on strike more than six days before that kicks in. If, like a majority of families, UAW workers are living paycheck-to-paycheck, the strike could get...
With the UAW āstrategicā strike, the only Ford plant on strike right now is Wayne, Michigan. It makes Rangers nd Broncos. Will the Teamsters refuse to haul any Ford product from anyplace to anyplace? If the UAW doesnāt want to shut down absolutely, will the Teamsters hold the same philosophy?
If Ford Iāll tell me which rail yard my truck is in, Iāll go to my dealer, do the paperwork, and go get my truckā¦if and when this scenario arises.
Us boomers can remember >14% on home loans. 18-20% on cars, 22% on credit cards. Iām not saying yāall shouldnāt complain, just saying it could be worse.
My Maverick isnāt here yet, but I wonāt be putting running boards on it. not because I donāt like the look, itās just not necessary. My trade-in (or sell or whatever) is a 2011 Ranger 4x4 w/ running boards that I have never used. I just believe in functional mods, not cosmetic ones. But if...
Is it my imagination or do the higher trims (Lariat and XLT) have more problems? Obviously, with more whistles and bells, there are more things that CAN go wrong, and Murphyās Law applies. Maybe there were just more upper trim level trucks sold, therefore there will be more issues with those...
Because Iām a rollover from 23 to 24, and with the private offer, Iām not paying a premium for my hybrid. I realize this is no consolation to those who have to pay for the hybrid option, I just wanted to gloat.
Seems all buyer pricing is regionally specific. Iāve wondered if a seller could find a better priced region and deliver? Or if Carvana (et al) only buys in their specific region.
In 2022, the order banks were open less than a week for MY23s. This year, the banks opened 7/17, and are still open. About 7 weeks and counting. I suspect production and delivery will be much quicker for 24s. Of course, that assumes that a UAW strike doesnāt affect production. Yes, I know...
Yeahā¦I was rear ended by a GMC SUV and it caved in the tailgate, bent the bumper down a bit, and bent the hitch receiver. Similar, but less, damage to the front bumper. A little less than $5000 in damage, almost half of that in paint and labor.
Looking forward to my Maverick (build date: late October ā23). While my Ranger is in the shop, my rental is a 2023 Ranger XLT 4x4. I donāt like it. It feels bigger and clunkier than my 2011 XLT 4x4. Maybe itās just because itās different than what Iāve been driving for over a decade, but...
And whatās crazy is that all of that is available in the aftermarket. My advice: if you can get it elsewhere, donāt put it on your order. The only advantage to having small accessories on your order is that you can then finance that cost.
I was just thinking that a company could make money on wheel covers (hubcaps) for steelies. Iām actually surprised it hasnāt happened yet, or have I just missed it?
Thereās a āMaverick Marketplaceā both in MTC and Facebook that will advertise your Maverick nationwide. Then youāre only limited by the population willing to travel to your location.
The used car price bubble was caused, in large part, by the pandemic and supply chain issues. Many of those issues are being ironed out. The bubble may not have burst yet (in certain areas), but itās leaking and will probably be deflated completely in the next year or soā¦barring another...
From what Iāve read about the Class Action Law Suit: Fordās written explanation was that the fires mentioned in the suit were after catastrophic engine failures caused the release of oil and fuel into the hot engine compartment. Problems with some of the crank machining. The recall was an...
