  1. Yep, that's right -35 degrees (-31°F)

I saw a very nice XLT FX4 at IKEA! I've had mine 3 1/2 months, and I saw only one other Maverick, one out on a test drive with dealer plates on it... back when I bought mine. Can't be too many in the province (yet). From today, coming back from Portage, detoured by Beaudry Park. There was...
  2. Yep, that's right -35 degrees (-31°F)

We're in Winnipeg. Vehicles live a hard life in the cold. I'm finding we get a loud creak noise occasionally, from dash/windshield area, I guess from unibody flex, when it's really cold. This pic from morning news taken a few days ago - Brrrr! Mil careers... retired, 35 years RCAF.
  3. Android Auto literally useless. Anyone else?

Just wondering, do you understand what the connectivity does for you? Hands free calling for starters. That ability to take a call, safely, while driving is priceless. I notice Bluetooth turns on automatically, on the phone, when I get in the truck. Pretty handy to be able to do that, hands...
  4. Stalling in cold conditions?

I've had my 2.0 eB AWD 4K tow over 3 months, have around 3,000 kms ATM. Recently, twice I've had it stall on me. Once leaving a big box store after going shopping, pulled out of where I was parked and it died. It started right up, carried on home no problem. The next occasion was much more...
  5. Worst MPG from AWD 2.0 EcoBoost Owners?

I think you're OK. Winter driving throws fuel economy for a loop. I was getting great fuel economy until the cold weather hit. All that idling warming it up, slipping and sliding around on the snow and ice, winter gas, etc. it all negatively affects it. This is my last tank, poorest fuel...
  6. Dash cubby hole -- what's in yours? 📸

I'm surprised the A & W Rootbear hasn't been posted yet! Perfect fit, and color matches the orange accent interior. He's gonna sit down in the tray tho, as I'm still using the cubby for this Ram mount phone/tablet holder:
  7. Real world fuel mileage MPG results by 2.0 EcoBoost owners - check in here

A few months back, we made the switch to ethanol only available (federal gov't mandate). I've only been running regular, but when it comes time to tow our camper, will blend in lots of premium - the Shell 91 octane is probably as good as it gets up here. My average fuel economy ATM, in what's...
  8. Real world fuel mileage MPG results by 2.0 EcoBoost owners - check in here

You'll get better fuel economy with summer gas, it's thicker, more heavy long chain molecules. The heavier the fuel gets, more BTUs. Ethanol likewise reduces efficiency - a Cdn gov't doc I found online said up to 2% drop in fuel economy. Good article here on the diff between summer & winter...
  9. MPG with primarily 'in city/town' driving?

Just watched this. I have the 2.0 eB, so don't have a dog in this fight, but am very impressed by the reported hybrid fuel economy numbers! Here he gets real world 44.4 mpg (5.3 liters/100 kms) in city driving!
  10. How many of you Mav owners have seen another Mav on the road?

Saw a Maverick a few days ago parked at IKEA, a nice FX4 model. I've had mine 3 months now, saw one a few days after buying mine (on a test drive), hadn't seen another until this sighting:
  11. Driving.ca Review of the Maverick 2.0 ecoBoost FX4

    Fresh off the press, rather a glowing review I think! https://driving.ca/reviews/road-test/pickup-review-2022-ford-maverick <iframe width="727" height="409" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/77uxR2xgigc" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay...
  12. Winter suitability

Hi. Yes, there is enough of a gap that the electrical cord isn't pinched tight, and it can move around a bit. No sign of chafing either, so seems to be working out well. Real full on winter weather here, lots of snow, slippery streets - the Maverick is turning out to be an excellent winter...
  13. How many of you Mav owners have seen another Mav on the road?

The Mavericks are still trickling in up here, one dealership just having gotten in a pair of hybrids they advertised. Another week will be 3 months of ownership for me (XLT 4Ktow eB) and I've only seen one other Maverick. A friend told me he saw one tho, at a carwash. Funny story, I was out...
  14. Thinking of cancelling Copilot 360 in build after seeing review.

He's certainly no expert, should have done his homework before putting that out there. I do appreciate the effort tho. That's a pretty critical difference between radar & camera, knowing what does what. I wish our XLT had radar and adaptive cruise. I bought ours off the lot, so got what was...
  15. Creative Ideas for Dash Cubby Storage

Not into making more. I didn't even take measurements really, or make a drawing. I just made a paper template to capture the taper. It was a fun quick woodworking project. That would be a good 3D printing project to design and make an exact fit RAM mount mounting block to fit in there.
  16. Does anyone have the Ford Tri Fold Soft Tonneau Cover, the $559.00 one?

    Couple of guys here: https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/ford-tonneau-cover-received-and-installed.5972/
  17. Any Maverick owners with NO problems / issues so far?

Zero issues, 2 1/2 months and 2,200+ kms... and I don't have a problem with the infotainment display, and I think the stereo sounds fine. Am I too easy to please!?
  18. Hypermiling Challenge for 2.0 EcoBoost Mavericks

It's $1.30/liter ATM. High gas prices, and fuel economy figured heavily into the Maverick purchase. The Nissan Frontier I had before was good to me, but a gas hog, might as well have been driving a full size truck.
  19. Spray in bedliner and tie down eye bolts added.

Where does a fellow buy these screw in threaded tiedown loops that you have there? Looks great with the spray in bedliner, am thinking of doing same in spring.
