  1. Took maybe 15 minutes. Excellent fit! Lund Aeroskin Smoke Hood Protector

Mine is the gray. Probably not my top choice, but I bought what was available. Not much dealer stock trickling in. Edit... found confirmation here that hood is aluminium: https://www.repairerdrivennews.com/2021/06/09/ford-unveils-20k-hybrid-unibody-mostly-steel-maverick-pickup/
  2. Took maybe 15 minutes. Excellent fit! Lund Aeroskin Smoke Hood Protector

I've got one on my truck too, dealer installed. It protects the front edge from stone chip damage. The hoods are aluminium aren't they? Bet they dent easily
  3. What Troubles Me About the Maverick...

We bought a slightly used '20 Corolla - that was 1st year production for the new model, but has the 1.8L carry-over (proven) engine. Zero issues. Similarly, our 2.0 eB Maverick AWD is a new model with a proven engine, that's been out since 2015 in it's current form. And because it's based on...
  4. Real world fuel mileage MPG results by 2.0 EcoBoost owners - check in here

There are lots of folks reporting decent fuel economy like this - 6.7 liters/100 kms works out to 35 mpg US, and I've got the 4K tow gearing. My fuel economy indication's a bit optimistic (like .5 liter/100 kms). This is easy driving mind you, steady state 100 km/h (62 mph). Regular gas, with...
  5. Real world fuel mileage MPG results by 2.0 EcoBoost owners - check in here

I usually just leave it in normal mode, but when the roads are icy, I'll switch to slippery mode. I drive with fuel economy in mind, take it really easy. I've never tried eco mode, found it unnecessary, get decent fuel economy in normal. Compared to the thirsty Nissan Frontier we had, the...
  6. Real world fuel mileage MPG results by 2.0 EcoBoost owners - check in here

" I do use the stop/start thing. Should I turn that off???" I leave it on. If you're looking to improve your fuel economy, I think it makes a difference, especially in city driving, busy intersections with long lights, etc. I started using the Auto Hold feature a while back - I find that, and...
  7. Winter suitability

Another good winter pic - we've had well over a meter of snow so far, and roads in the country drift in quickly. This busy country road had been cleared only a few days ago, drifted back in... a snowblower cut this path thru shortly before we drove thru. The Maverick is turning out to be a...
  8. How many Mavericks produced so far?

I get "suggested" articles in my Google newsfeed constantly pointing to threads in this forum. My Maverick was from the first shipment up here to dealerships, had mine 4 months in a couple of days. Thanks @clavicus for the production numbers total. There's an awful lot of orders...
  9. How many Mavericks produced so far?

Anyone know what current total production numbers are at? Is this information available somewhere? January production numbers should be known/available by now (you'd think).
  10. Lack of Maverick Advertising

" Tesla spent zero dollars on ads in the past few years. Tesla won't even spend a single dollar on paid advertising on Facebook, YouTube Instagram, and Twitter. ... Loyal customers have become a free advertising force, with fans spreading their love for Tesla EVs through word-of-mouth...
  11. Anyone Just Taking What's on The Dealer Lots Instead of Ordering ?

I like to look at the window stickers to see what packages and options you get for that. I saw one dealer had an XL 2.0 eB for well under $30K. Prices on packages and options have gone up, and on the attached windowsticker .pdf, you can see a no option XL is $28,700 before shipping & taxes...
  12. Anyone Just Taking What's on The Dealer Lots Instead of Ordering ?

I like how this one dealership in the city is doing it. They advertise incoming inventory, and you can see the MSRP all-in price (before taxes) on the window sticker. Basically, you can put down a deposit over the phone to reserve it. I think most of the Mavericks arriving here are already...
  13. Can't pull up wipers when its gets icy and freezing

Now that's proof. "May" occur. I've been moving the arms slowly & carefully, have gotten away with that. This is a terrible design IMO - looks over function.
  14. Can't pull up wipers when its gets icy and freezing

That seems like a good idea, using a cover, but never see anyone using one!? I often have the block heater, battery charger, and a Little Buddy interior warmer going, plugged in a good 1 1/2 hours before starting the truck or scraping the windows.
  15. Can't pull up wipers when its gets icy and freezing

Proof? There's no resistance when you rotate them vertical, and they just retract into the stowed position when you start the truck. If anything is going to burn the wiper motor out, it would be trying to operate it with the wiper blades frozen to the windshield, and/or having snow & ice...
  16. Can't pull up wipers when its gets icy and freezing

With the truck switched off, you can rotate the wiper arms up to mid position, and lift the wiper arms up off the glass. Just remember to flip the wipers back down onto the window, BEFORE starting the truck: https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/winter-suitability.4930/#post-104138
  17. Real world fuel mileage MPG results by 2.0 EcoBoost owners - check in here

My Maverick has the 4K tow package. I suspect the lower final drive ratio would help fuel economy in city driving, but be slightly worse on the highway (higher engine rpm). As volksnuts was saying, there's likely a sweet spot. I usually cruise 100 to 105 km/h striving for good fuel economy.
  18. Winter suitability

Full on blizzarding out here this morning in Winterpeg, lots of highways closed. Lots of drifting from high winds, and usually no snow clearing happening until the storm has passed. Had to go out, drop the wife off - roads are terrible. Helluva test of the AWD system. Two thumbs up IMO...
  19. Winter suitability

You should be able to order it from Ford. Looks like an easy install, but gotta drain coolant etc. The pic I saw online showed it being thread in. I'd go out and confirm that but blizzarding outside ATM.
  20. Real world fuel mileage MPG results by 2.0 EcoBoost owners - check in here

I'm a bit math challenged, so let's see if I get this right... driving 60 mph indicated, in an hour you'd have travelled 62.5, 2.5 more (because of the larger tire circumference) which is 4.16% more. Wouldn't the fuel efficiency then also be 4.16% better (than indicated)? And hand...
