I think the attached photos document the hybrid's Winter efficiency drop pretty well. These are from my daily commute to work of just short of six miles. It was 30 degrees in the morning with a little frost, so the extra couple of minutes came from the scraping I had to do. The afternoon was...
Sorry, I didn't read far enough up the chain and took your post as a statement on general Maverick reliability.
Yes, that sounds pretty bad. On the plus side, at least these are demonstrable problems that will be hard for a dealer to dismiss as fantasy. (Which they love to do.) I would think it...
I bought a used '99 Ford Escort dirt cheap in 2000. It was a totally uninspiring little rattletrap with more annoying idiosyncrasies than I could count. But....it lasted 21 years and just shy of 200K miles, with nothing but routine maintenance and a fuel pump at 120k.
The build quality of my...
I've had mine since February. I consider the build quality to be perfectly fine, and easily in line with my Honda Accord. No squeaks, rattles or leaks, and it drives like a dream. 😊
I was actually just ribbing you a little over "mph" vs "mpg". My job involves a lot of proofreading for accuracy, so things like that jump out at me. I should probably get a life. 😜
But those are some impressive numbers considering the colder weather you must be having up there. I've found my...
Pretty sure your Maverick will do better than 40 mph....you're just not trying hard enough. 😉
Jokes aside, I had an '89 Ranger and a 2000 Mazda B-2300. (Which was a Ranger in everything but name.) And though I liked them both fine and they performed well, my Maverick is better in every way for...
Well you're half right. It doesn't really have a "first gear", and acceleration and cruising in "L" are the same in as in Drive. It's only when you let off the gas that you feel the difference. It kicks it into maximum regenerative braking to slow you down...thus making it feel sort of like one...
I drive almost exclusively in the city, and they seem to work just fine with no odd switching back and forth.....except that on a couple of occasions I've discovered they weren't working and had to work them manually. Both times the dash indicator wasn't even on, even though it was selected in...
Agreed! But what jumps out at me from this chart is the wagon and the convertible. I didn't even know they made those...and I owned an original Maverick back in the day. Maybe I just don't get out enough.....🤷♂️
This literally describes just about every major metropolitan area in the country....along with a lot of the minor ones. We don't all have the luxury of pulling up stakes and moving to greener pastures. Though I do intend to do so eventually. Until then I will protect my assets. And carrying my...
Ok, maybe I'm missing something.....but why would anyone use the keypad to lock their car if they had the key in their hand or pocket? Is there another reason one might do that? Looks like a total red flag to me. 🤷♂️
Well I'll have to disagree with you on that one. I've never had one of those keypads before, and was looking forward to being able to lock the key in the truck when I went to the park for runs. So the first time I went for a run after I got the truck, I tossed the fob in the armrest storage and...
Yep, how Ford ever managed to make it look like that in their example photos I will never know. Fortunately for me, I like the real thing better. Otherwise I might have found it extremely irritating.
I joked about the color's visibility factor to my wife when I first saw it in person....but turns out it is totally true. Even in a sea of cars in a parking lot, you can pick it out in an instant. Safe to say we won't have to worry about forgetting where we parked ever again. 😉
You should come and look for them around here. I've seen at least four different CO Mavs in my area. One of them is parked in a driveway on my way to work every morning.
Except that school buses aren't yellow. Modern school buses are yellow-orange. The term is a throwback to the thirties when they were first introduced....and actually were yellow. But whatever we want to call it, it's a beautiful color! 😍
