  1. 2023 Hybrid Oil Change Pudding Surprise!

I had an '81 Toyota pickup that had that emulsion under the cap every time I looked for twenty-five years. Never knew what caused it, but it didn't' seem to be an issue. Also had a '67 VW Beetle that had a crankcase vent tube that collected the stuff. Had to blow it out every few weeks....but it...
  2. The Rotary Dial Is Great Design (Not Joking)

Why bother? In a matter of seconds, they all go away on their own. I've never given them a second thought.
  3. The Rotary Dial Is Great Design (Not Joking)

    Damn....you said it before I did. 😣
  4. The Rotary Dial Is Great Design (Not Joking)

Why do you think you need to indicate that you're not joking? It's a perfectly reasonable statement, and I agree completely. I loved the rotary shifter right from the start...and this from an older guy who is very set in his ways.
  5. Poll, Hybrid owners with NO problems

'22 Hybrid XLT. Delivered January '22 11,384 completely trouble-free miles. By a country mile, my most satisfying ownership experience ever! 😍
  6. Hybrids use ICE power

On the contrary....it's a very good thing! 😍 Not that I recall ever hearing anyone deny that hybrids use gasoline, mind you. 😉
  7. Thermal camera view of my Maverick's heated seats & steering wheel

Definitely the coolest thing you never knew you wanted to see. 😍
  8. Hybrid Owners/Orders, How many things are we just OVERLOOKING?

I have a very early hybrid build, and it's been completely trouble free for 19 months and 11000 miles. I've left it sitting for a couple of weeks on several occasions with no problems. The only "Deep Sleep" warning I've ever gotten is right after I bought it, when I spent half the day in and out...
  9. Hate to be the bearer or bad news but the Maverick has for our family, proven to be unreliable in the worst way. No start condition on multiple HEV

Quite true. That's why I make an effort to do just that. Customer service is a big part of my job, and I promise you, the negatives are GROSSLY overrepresented in this, and all such forums...EB and hybrid alike. And to make value judgements based upon them is nothing short of preposterous.
  10. Factory Continental bad tires. Need replacement at 15K miles

For what it's worth, I've got 11000 miles on mine, and though I haven't measured, they still look about the same as new. I expect they'll do about 30k in the end, and that's decent for factory tires.
  11. Hate to be the bearer or bad news but the Maverick has for our family, proven to be unreliable in the worst way. No start condition on multiple HEV

I forgot to mention I have it scheduled for the cable "overlay" this month, just in case. I'm confident....but not foolhardy. 😉 Oh, and I completely forgot about those hybrids that got built and had to sit and wait for the Ok to buy. It seems so long ago now....😵
  12. Hate to be the bearer or bad news but the Maverick has for our family, proven to be unreliable in the worst way. No start condition on multiple HEV

Mine is one of the earliest hybrid builds, and it's been totally trouble-free for over 11,000 miles.
  13. I Really Dislike The Autohold Feature

Personally, I'm extremely happy with the feature. Never had it before, and thought it was just a gimmick before I tried it....but I've absolutely fallen in love with it since, and would hate to do without it. Maybe there is an adjustment issue on some vehicles out there. Mine takes only the...
  14. The REAL HYBRID MPG

Hey, knock that **** off. You're creating unrealistic expectations! 😜
  15. The REAL HYBRID MPG

Yep, there are highways....and there are highways. I've gotten some of my best trip readings on long stretches of congested interstate. It really takes the sting out of a traffic jam, watching your mpg going up instead of down. Why did it take me so long to buy a hybrid?? 😉
  16. The REAL HYBRID MPG

I've had mine since February '22. I'd estimate my driving over that time is about 70/30 City/Hwy, and the average over the 10k miles or so reads 44.6 on the dash. I calculated manually at every fill-up for the first year or so, and it always came out about 2 mpg under the dash readout every...
  17. What PSI are you running in your XL hybrid tires???? My truck came with no tire info sticker and its not in the manual

My sticker indicates 35 PSI all around. It's an XLT, but I'm pretty sure the tire size and pressure is the same. I keep mine at the recommended pressure, and the ride quality seems fine.
  18. I Think The Maverick is The Best Entry Level Vehicle Ever Created

I've owned a pretty extensive variety of cars and trucks over the last forty years, and I agree with your assessment 100%. And I for one have no beef whatsoever with the quality and durability of the interior plastics. I love the appearance, and I have yet to find a single scuff or scratch in...
  19. How Do You Like The Power Adjustable Driver's Seat?

I find the seats to be extremely comfortable, and so does my wife. We've been on several long trips in the last eighteen months or so, and have had no issues. As for the power adjustments, they were a breeze to set, and I found my sweet spot in moments. My wife likes it like I have it set, so we...
