The GPF will only be on for the states following the California rules--West Coast states, New England states, Minnesota, and Colorado. And since few Mavs will ever try to develope 250 hp (5500 rpm needed) unless you're drag racing, you'll never notice it other than slightly lower mpg.
With all the debating of AWD vs FWD, everyone seems to forget that until FWD started to become widely available in the 1970's, everyone including those in the northern snow country managed to survive quite well with RWD.
My experience says that FWD is half-way between RWD and AWD in...
You're not going to damage your Mav unless you try to get a running start using a chain attached to a semi.
You can damage anything if you try hard enough.
Had a similar keypad on my 2011 Ranger. Battery lasted about 5 years. The second one about the same. You can break into it and replace the battery although it is not designed for that.
Another way to confirm the problem is in the trailer rather than the Mav. is to get an extra taillight and wire it directly to the 4 pin as the right turn. Assuming it works properly, you know you need to chase the ground and other wiring on the trailer. As others have said, it's most likely...
If you have the 6.5" screen, one of the optional displays is "Fuel Economy" which shows an MPG figure that slowly changes over time. I assume that is the 250 mile (or whatever) average that was mentioned and I'd expect that's what the miles to empty is based on.
I'm curious to see how miles...
My 24 is much the same. I have found that if it is fully charged and working, overnight it will need apx 30 miles to recharge and work again. If I don't drive enough to get it working, it appears to be worse on day 2, taking longer to recharge. I've had it get to the point it took 125 miles...
I had a Baja and made a lot of use of the midgate. I also improvised something similar on an IH Scout pickup. A midgate on the Mav could make me think of trading.
From the start with my EB last Feb when the battery was brand new, it has behaved that way. I have found that starting from a system that is operating, overnight the drain on the battery will take around 30 miles of driving to overcome the vehicle charging message. However, if I don't drive...
It’s one of the screens you can select to be shown along with the mpg and tire pressure screens.
You are truly in fwd running down the highway. The intelligent awd system has clutches at both ends of the driveshaft and disconnects when not needed so the shaft isn’t turning like in an old 4WD...
Haven't done it with the Mav yet, but have with other vehicles and will when the need arises. I have a spare hitch insert without a ball on it just in case.
As he said, the state of battery charge will override the timer setting for the power. On my XLT, the overnight drain of the battery is enough to require 30 or more miles of driving to keep the Auto Shutdown working (which I assume your hybrid does not have). It's screen will say engine...
Don't base your opinion of build quality just on what you read here. Usually only those having problems bother to post, only a few post "I've got no problems", but there are many of us. And this or any group are only a small sample of all owners. There have be 300,000 Mavs delivered, but only...
Right.
The sample you see online is only a small percentage of all Maverick owners and many treat it no different than their last "whatever". A while back I think I saw that only about 10% of the 200,000 total Maverick owners are online and that's those of us that are interested in their...
