I am not a lawyer but you might consider filing under the provision of Missouri's lemon law. If you have sought repairs for the same issue at least four or more times and the vehicle was out of service for at least 30 days, you may qualify. In Ohio, my case actually met those two requirements...
They are messing with you Bob. The BXT-99RT4-A is the stock flooded battery that is stock for the hybrid. It is NOT an AGM. Time to find another dealer and report that indiscretion to Ford customer service.
Ha, they had my truck for an entire week. Cost them over $300 for that rental I drove. Anyway, best of luck and stay with it. It took me four attempts.
My dealer installed a FoMoCo BAGM-H4 (540 CCA and a reserve of 80) in my hybrid this past week under warranty. There was an upcharge of $100 but that's still a pretty good deal compared to buying my own and installing it. I get a 3 year warranty and they provided me with a loaner. The SSM53801...
They always give me a loaner to drive so I don't wait for warranty work....ever. And I get the 3 year warranty with free replacement and they reprogram it for the appropriate battery. I love Amazon as much as the next guy but I don't think they offer all of that.
My dealer performed the SSM 53801 two weeks ago on my 24 Lariat hybrid. It made no difference toward resolving the battery saver mode issue that I've been dealing with for over a year. They finally agreed the battery was probably sulfated. So I finally convinced them to replace it with an AGM...
I was just about to post some details regarding my latest experience related to this thread, but I'll briefly chime in here. My 24 Lariat hybrid has been in battery saver mode for about the last year. The dealer replaced the battery once quite a while ago. It didn't help for long. Now my truck...
It's garbage, only good for heating up your phone and we all know how good that is for electronics. I used fuse position 18 to power a dashcam instead. At least it came in handy for that.
I find both of them useful and a lot of fun for many driving scenarios. But then I recently put the ACC through a rather challenging test on the western PA turnpike in dry sunny weather. Traffic was light on this Sunday. What I discovered was quite surprising. (Anyone reading this that is not...
If your 12v reaches a particular threshold of declining state of charge, you won't be starting your truck. Ask me how I know. Portable jump starter to the rescue. It's always on hand.
Best of luck to you. And watch the dealer for any funny business. I can just imagine some of them trying to take advantage of the tariff situation in numerous ways.
Hang in there Tony, it's unlikely the truck will leave you stranded unless the battery is actually starting to fade. I have been tolerating the same issue on the same model for at least nine months and it starts even after a week of sitting at the airport. Now, for peace of mind you can have the...
Well known and pervasive problem in the hybrid. It's even being reported in the '25 MY. Ford's supposed fix is the software update SSM53087 which has not been released yet.
