My dealership did all of the additional programming after installing the AGM, it made no difference. The one positive thing I can say is that there is enough reserve to always start the vehicle. I suppose that is the battery saver mode doing it's job anyway.

If the update in question is the SSM53801, well I can tell you it didn't help my 24 Lariat hybrid at all. Even with the installation of a brand new FoMoCo AGM battery. The last recorded SOC was 17%. I'll be taking it back in for the 4th time next week for the same issue.

It's exclusively a hybrid issue.

To Hack, since the battery saver mode (aka deep sleep) has been a known issue since they began production of the hybrid, I think it may be worth a shot to plead a warranty case with your dealer even though it has expired. You have nothing to lose by trying.

A little tip regarding the pour spout. You can easily knock out those fins on the inside of the funnel and you'll get a higher flow rate. No more splash out when I first tip the gas can over.

The dealer should upcharge you at most $100 to replace your stock battery with an AGM. That's what I came away with.

Right, there is an upcharge. But it's the best deal out there to possibly remedy the situation. And the battery is covered for three years from installation. I paid the $100 through my Fordpass points so I didn't even feel it. It's a win, but you will likely have to fight for it.
