I never had a problem with my setup. I installed brake lite relay with all other components as shown in the eTrailer installation videos and have been towing my Maverick without any issues. I use Stay and Play aux. braking system and diode wiring kit in the rear running, brake and turn signal...
I suggest you look over the DIY install thread by LindaB on Dec 4 2022. She put on a Readybrake system, but she has a detailed explanation of the brake lite relay install along with a tip on removing part of trim for better access (it is hard to get to!).
Leave yourself enough time for this...
I think it is electrical feedback into the PCM due to no brake relay switch. Disconnecting the battery resets the module.
The brake relay switch is a bit difficult to install - but I was able to do it (tight spot to access).
We towed our XLT multiple times on a six week trip (about 3000 miles...
Did you put diode wiring system for rear lights?
If so, did you install brake light relay switch under dash?
I think problem may be lack of braje light relay.
How are you equipped?
We just did our first trip flat towing Hybrid XLT behind motorhome (2000 miles) and I set it to neutral tow mode, turn key off and get out of maverick. We do our turn signal and brake light check, then I open the door, verify that small screen says neutral tow mode engaged.
I then lock the...
The easiest way to get diode wiring help is to watch the Etrailer installation videos for Maverick. There are 2 or 3 of them and each installer does it slightly dfferently.
I generally followed their lead and put a bit more weather protection with dielectric grease, heat shrink and wire loom...
There's a TSB/recall on this.
Took mine in after getting same engine light/warning in November 2023.
Dealer said it was programming fix under warranty.
The warning had reset before I took it in for service - but they performed the recall service.
I put a Noco Genius on board 2 amp charger in the engine compartment. Just attach red to the jump post and black to a body ground and you can leave it hooked up with an extension cord for the duration of your absence. I was away for about 3 months right after I got my truck and had no problems...
Mine was done by Campway in Santa Rosa CA.
They did an excellent job, and Campway manager Cass fit my Mav in on short notice.
And they were $100 cheaper than LineX in my area.
Also my fantastic salesman, Drew Gottlieb at Hansel Ford Santa Rosa, coordinated
running the truck to and from...
My vote is for an older Honda CRV. We had to get another vehicle d/t 526 day wait for Maverick, and it needed to be flat towable behind motorhome. Found a 2006 CRV LX with 109K miles at a dealer 200 miles away and called them to put a deposit to hold. They were great - no deposit - car was...
I put the NOCO Genius onboard 2A charger under hood with positive attached to the jump post and negative added to an existing body ground nearby. Seems to work fine. I plug it in for a day when Ford app tells me I need to drive it more and I am not going out. I do not drive that much except...
Yeah - service recall cost nothing. Oil change service cost $220.
Used to have oil change (the works) done on my F150 there regularly.
Last year they bumped their prices up considerably.
I mostly do all my own service - just had injury and needed recall attended to - so it was convenient to...
I would suggest you get a package of Cerakote wipes and follow the (easy) instructions to apply ceramic type coating to the plastic trim. You could also paint it all - but the Cerakote is easy, fairly inexpensive and looks like it does a really nice job.
