I had a 2008 Escape Hybrid AWD for 9 years. Still had original Brakes & tires when I sold it in 2017 with 95k miles. That's where I learned hypermiling. My 2025 Lariet Hybrid is also amazing so far, just at 6k miles. I love the Lariet features, but will never need AWD now that we're retired and...
I'm exactly like you guys, long before Mav Hybrid i drove moderately. Pretend there's an egg between your foot and accelerator pedal. Then try to DWB (Drive Without Brakes) as much as possible. I had a 2002 Ford Ranger 5-speed manual. Coasting to a stop in 5th gear you could force Fuel Cutoff...
I used Forscan to make many changes to my 25MY Mav Hybrid, including 12v SOC from default 80% to 85%. Im not an expert, proposing that's the perfect level, but haven't experienced "Sleep" since this change. Serves me well, so will stay @ 85% until it doesn't.
Sleep mode happens in Fords that are Not hybrid, no HVB. I'm quite certain it's 12V battery condition AND time. I've had three (3) non-hybrid Ford enter sleep mode. Two were 12V batteries going bad due to time, and driven regularly. The third on a 2026 Ford with a like new battery but after...
My 2026 E-450 Ford will exit sleep mode by simply turning key on for 20 or do seconds, no engine start required. The Mav probably requires engine start.
I will monitor my Mav tires & rotate if I feel necessary based on wear patterns. I might discover it beneficial in spite of never rotating in my life. Time will tell.
Im been driving 63 years & like you, have never rotated tires. Also never observed unusual wear. Perhaps Im just lucky?? My 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid had 95K miles when I sold it, original tires, only half worn, never rotated. But I'm always open to correction.
I have 2025 Mav Lariet, also a 2026 F-450 chassis 7.3V8 gas engine on a Motorhome chassis. It's plugged into shore power in pole barn. Roughly 18 days since last start Ford Pass App indicates sleep mode, and the engine battery is fully charged. So Ford sleep mode includes Time as well as 12V SOC...
Im pretty sure Forscan can't modify HV battery SOC, only the 12V battery. My 25MY HV battery SOC varies between 38.x% to 68.x% according to Car scanner App. I've heard others mention lower limit 30%. My Mav has 6,000 miles.
The deep sleep feature has been around a long time. My 2016 F-150 Lariet began telling me my 12V battery was slowing dying when auto Start/Stop ceased working. Then the Deep Sleep message started happening more frequently. After replacing the 7 year old battery everything back to normal. The...
My wife of 57 years and I were born same day & will be 79 next Sunday. So we're crossing into the silent generation. She drives any and all vehicles we've ever owned, except motorcycles, and flying my airplane in past years. She likes driving our Maverick Hybrid but her driving style isn't real...
I paid roughly $65 for both fluids when I did it myself. Plus $12 for a fluid pump, which ill use hereafter. If you can change your oil, you can do this yourself.
Yes unfortunately they discontinued Desert Sand color in 26MY for some reason - I guess so they could introduce new colors? I'm so happy we got our 2025 DS Lariet Hybrid in April. Wife originally had heart set on the Blue color until we saw DS. Love the color, fantastic truck.
Yes, the 12V battery, not the High Voltage Hybrid battery. I believe the Hybrid battery also has 80% charge level, which i doubt can be altered with Forscan. Also, many guys with 2022-24 Mavs with Flooded cell batteries change 12V battery charging level to 100%.
Very well was the correct name. I'm drawing from a 70 year old memory of what they called it. We didn't have a television or dial telephone then, so this DeSoto was Amazing technology to my Dad & his brothers.
