  1. 2025 Hybrid - Potential Battery Drain?

I have 25MY Lariet Hybrid. From the factory the 12V battery only gets charged to 80% charge via firmware setting. I was getting occasional deep sleep after it sat for several days. Using Forscan i changed that to 85% charge from default 80% and hasn't exhibited deep sleep since. The 12v AGM...
  2. Owning my Maverick embarrassed me in front of family

As a small boy I remember my Dad trading our 1946 car for a used 1953 DeSoto. It had a "Power Glide" (I think it was called) transmission. I remember he briefly released the gas pedal at about 35mph, then it shifted from a lower gear to high gear. He let me sit on his lap and steer on our back...
  3. Brake Buddy select 3 causing lock up on Mav Lariat Hybrid Toad

I agree sequence is probably not important. But keeping toad 12v battery charged is all important to maintain Tow mode.
  4. 2025 Maverick xl

You've caught the contagious disease "un-necessary driving" cuz it's so much fun. Lol! Welcome & Enjoy every mile.
  5. Flat Towing the 2025 Maverick AWD Hybrid

No, RVI Brake3, older version than the Shadow. Been using it nine years, works much like the old Brake Buddy supplemental brake. It sits on floor & physically cramps to brake pedal. No drilling thru firewall required. With drivers door open, kneel on ground with flashlight in hand & drivers seat...
  6. 2 years ago today...

Neutral Tow is a feature only available on the Hybrid, not the 2.0 Eco. Nevertheless it seems like the Ecoboost Should free wheel in Neutral??
  7. Hybrid braking tips to maximize MPG?

Pretty much my interpretation, 100% means you've captured All the Regen possible. But a miniscule hydraulic brake probably used last few feet of stopping, barely enough to scrape the rust from the pads. My previous 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid had 95k when I sold, original brake pads & all tires...
  8. Brake Buddy select 3 causing lock up on Mav Lariat Hybrid Toad

I flat tow 2025 Mav Hybrid AWD and have also been flat towing with previous Ford vehicles for many years, all with a RVI brake3 (yes, not the Brake Buddy). I'm only posting to mention I Always put Mav and previous vehicles into Tow mode prior to connecting 7-pin to 6-pin cord, and never a...
  9. When - Oil Change on NEW 2024 Hybrid Just Purchased

I agree with the early first oil change, which is the most important IMHO. If any shavings, get them removed early on. My 2025 Lariet Hybrid purchased in April, I changed oil & filter at 1,000 miles using Motorcraft Filter, Mobil 1 full synthetic. Actually saw no appreciable new engine shavings...
  10. Beware of Reverse sensing system

I got my license in 1962. I fondly remember driver's training, full sized Chevy, 3 other students in back seat & instructor in front, no seatbelts. Small town, Southern IL, learning to parallel park on "Main" street with the instructor grading you with paper on clipboard. Then some years later...
  11. Battery maintenance and fuel additive for long-term storage

Agree with Cherokee, Ethanol Free gas AND Stabil. I've had this combo in small engines for five (5) years and starts on 2nd to third pull. Battery tender Yes Sir!
  12. Stop stressing. Just drive your Maverick and enjoy 😅

I still have my Dwell meter which I generally used to rotate distrubuter to "time" the engine after setting point gap. Great memories. I still use my feeler gage on small OHV engines, so it's not put out to pasture!
  13. RDU Fluid changed at 2,000 miles

I didn't really think it was friction brakes, but threw that out as a remote potential cause. Sorry you're having this problem, and hopefully if RDU is defective your replacement unit is A+ looking forward. Will be watching for resolution.
  14. RDU Fluid changed at 2,000 miles

You're correct, I'll do that soon. I was planning on having all four wheels up at time of changes.. Best laid plans of mice & men.... Lol
  15. RDU Fluid changed at 2,000 miles

After yesterday's trips I listened intently for any clinking while slowing with brakes lightly engaged, but no sign of a clunk noise from rear. I believe I was Regen braking only until the last few feet? Any chance you're hearing rear friction brakes engage, not rear end clunk??
  16. RDU Fluid changed at 2,000 miles

Honestly haven't noticed the sound you describe but I'll listen closely today when I'm out n about. I hadn't seen the other posts about the Rear End Clunk until now.
  17. RDU Fluid changed at 2,000 miles

Lol! I spend several minutes thinking about & gathering all the tools 🔧 I believe I'll need, but seldom successful. Then the 'out of reach' scenario gets you.. the good thing is we all need more exercise as we age! This Maverick is a far cry from my 1970 Mav, straight 6 cylinder, heater & AM radio.
  18. RDU Fluid changed at 2,000 miles

I'm blessed indeed, but crawling around under truck results in tiredness & a little next day soreness. Reminds me I'm not a young man anymore. Thanks!
  19. Oil Life Indicator APP update

With Ford Pass open, pull down briefly from top (finger on gray area of display), forces App toimmediately communicate with Ford Server. Example: add air to a tire, force App to immediately communicate with Ford server, and the App will display new tire pressure in a few seconds.
  20. Change your PTU (Power Transfer Unit) / RDU (Rear Drive Unit) OIL!

Yes, ramps are fine. I did both PTU & RDU yesterday, using ramps. PTU fill plug (8mm hex) is awkward but once you get your arms in correct position not too bad. Good feeling to have those fluids done early on. I have 4,100 miles on ODO.
