Robots are obviously a HUGH component of assembly line operation. Very recently Brad (my grandson) was working long hours at the plant. A robot was experiencing problems, and one of their Robotic Engineers worked 30 straight hours to repair. This was during the Christmas production shutdown...
Correct, the Louisville Assembly Plant (LAP) is being re-tooled for a new vehicle - not the Maverick. My Grandson is an Industrial engineer at the Ford truck plant in Louisville, specializing in assembly line processes, efficiency, changes. He has been detailed to LAP to assess needs for the...
I'm very pleased with my Maverick & there's a lot of quirky things to know, and go wrong, just like any vehicle. I'm sure we've all learned on this forum, providing & receiving knowledge. May we all be safe and enjoy our ride. We're at nearly 10k miles since buying our Mav in April 2025. 50% of...
It never happened to me either in my first 62 years of driving. But it was some sort of EVAP valve that clogged, not the canister. The displayed code didn't bother me at first, know ing what it was, but eventually I couldn't fill my tank in less than 20+ minutes, tenths of a gallon at a time. I...
My 2025 Mav Lariet Hybrid doesn't exhibit that gas tank anomaly, going from full to 7/8 quickly - unless it really wasn't filled as expected due to pump fill sensor triggering premature shutoff, or sloping ground, either effecting precise fill level. I don't squeeze more fuel in after shutoff...
Yes, do this. It's not just a Maverick issue. I constantly topped up on my 2016 F-150, not realizing my mistake, resulted in EVAP code, Extremely slow fuel fill. $750 later problem fixed at a local shop, dropping fuel tank, much labor, parts replacement. Ford dealership wanted about twice the...
Spot on advice. I installed these & kept windows closed several days. In past vehicles I didn't allow windows to remain closed long enough with resulting problems.
And for those owning other, likely older Ford vehicles, Engineering Test Mode (ETM) has existed at least since 2016 F-150, perhaps longer. Ive used ETM several times on various Ford vehicles to achieve closer displayed MPG.
Great advice Darryl, thanks as always. I subscribe to "If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it" advice. Our Mav just performs like a Timex watch, keeps on ticking. (Young folks probably never heard that commercial on B&W Tv).
Great advice Darryl, if it ain't broke, don't try to fix it. Thanks...
I'm seeing more than four (4) Car Scanner entries per page on some Maverick displays. I'm using Android Auto and can never get more than 4 lines of data. It appears those with more lines are using Apple Car Play, not Android Auto? If so, then this is likely an AA setting I'm guessing?
This is the answer. Messaging must be Enabled in the Android Auto App. I personally have texts disabled in AA cuz I don't want texts while driving. Your choice. Good luck.
You are exactly correct. I live just 20 miles south of the Louisville Assembly plant (LAP). My Grandson is an Industrial Engineer at the Big Ford Truck plant, also in Louisville. The retooling at LAP is NOT for Maverick production. Strong rumor is the small Ford EV truck. I can't confirm that...
And your Roadmaster install is top notch, a bit cleaner it appears than the blueox. I choose the Blueox only because we're creatures of habit.. we tend to use products that have worked well in past years. This is at least my 4th Blueox Baseplate & towbar setup. Happy trails Dave.
Not particularly well, especially on VWs that were exposed to salted winter roads, where the heat channels frequently rusted partially out. I suspect they worked pretty good when they were newer. But they were fun to drive and I sometimes wish I hadn't sold my 72' that was in great shape.
Yes, they had Muff heaters, just like old single engine air cooled airplanes I used to fly. The exhaust pipe was surrounded by a muffler looking device, called a Muff heater, which captured heat from the super hot exhaust pipe. Then the generator turned engine coolant fan diverted some air into...
That is true. A gas line from tank under the hood ran to the heater. I never personally heard they were problematic, they did heat well, but were beyond dangerous. They eventually became nearly impossible to find. I never had one myself.
My last two VWs were a 72' & 73' super beetles. Simple as can be, but required a lot of "wrenching". I could adjust the valves without looking at documentation. If you kept valves adjusted, timing spot on, all the tin attached to the engine, heat channels not rotted out, they would run forever...
Thank you Mark for this Very informative video. My 25MY Lariet Hybrid AWD has no noticeable feel or sound when coasting to a stop. So I assumed the rear tires were not engaged? Now I know differently. I've read about it on this forum. Makes us wonder why some feel/hear the transition, others...
