  1. Things I wish I knew before I bought my Maverick

We did zero research before we bought our 24 Maverick. We just wanted a truck that we could get into easier than our Tundra. The only thing I miss is the ACC that the XLT does not have. This is a great truck and fits our need just perfect.
  2. Oil life at 51% at 6,030 miles.

Mine shows 61% at 2,595 miles. This is the initial mileage. I plan on changing before 3,000 miles.
  3. Auto headlight indicator on dash

So today when I started the Maverick, the "A"light indicator was on. As I pulled out into the sun, the indicator went off -- so KrS is right on the money. It indicates that the lights are actually on, with the switch in the auto position.
  4. Let's talk WDH for a moment

I was pulling a 16 foot enclosed trailer with my Tundra. When the trailer was loaded heavy (7,000 lbs gross), the truck was quite unstable. After adding the WDH, the truck handled much better. But we're talking about a truck with a full frame, and much heavier load than a Maverick would be...
  5. Auto headlight indicator on dash

    That makes some sense. Thanks!
  6. Auto headlight indicator on dash

When the headlight switch is in the "Auto" position, usually the headlight symbol with the "A" in it shows on the dash (see picture). But this comes and goes at random. I took this picture this morning after starting out, but after a few miles, the symbol went away. I didn't touch any of the...
  7. NEW PROBLEM: Bubbling paint...

When Massachusetts went to aluminum plates years ago, they had to replace all of them the first year cause the paint did not stick. You'd have thought they'd have learned a lot about painting on aluminum since then.
  8. 17 month review, 2024 Maverick XL

My '24 EB has just over 2000 miles and gets 27 MPG (verified after fill up). Took a short highway trip yesterday and it reported 29 MPG.
  9. How to tell if a Mav has a GPF from the sticker?

My 2024 EB says "50 State Emissions" on its sticker.
  10. Only get heat when set to max heat.

I've tried about every setting; auto on/off, AC on/off, etc. Looks like it'll be going back to the dealer. . . Thanks for your responses.
  11. Only get heat when set to max heat.

When I bought this XLT in April, I couldn't get any heat from the heater. Took it back to the Ford salesman, and after tinkering with it for a while, it blasted hot air. Now it's cool out again, and same problem. Am I missing something, or is there an issue with the heater?
  12. Is it totaled?

One advantage of buying used -- someone else gets to "enjoy" the first dent .
  13. Poorly written Maverick Manual

I get frustrated when someone simply says "Read the manual!"
  14. I am not buying extended warranty

This is only the second time I bought an extended warranty. The first was on a Harley that had a lifter break and wiped out the lower end of the engine. The cost was more than what I paid for the warranty. The second was on my Maverick. Plan on keeping it long term, and just like the peace of...
  15. Predictive Cruise Control

My manual includes over 550 pages, and includes every option that may be available. It is rather confusing to determine which options my specific Maverick may have. So I understand why someone would ask a question on the forum that may be included somewhere in the manual. To simply reply to a...
  16. What did you all cross shop Maverick with?

Was wanting something easier to get into than our Tundra. Went to local Ford dealer on a Saturday, asked what they had in a smaller truck, asked what the difference was between the Ranger and Maverick, "Maverick is lower," looked at a few, drove home that morning with our new 2024 EB. Last...
  17. Turning Radius... Why is it so bad?

Maybe your Maverick likes their places better than yours. . .
  18. The “L”ow Down (shifting into L - Low when approaching a stop)

I understand the engine braking, but why would it shift to a much lower gear a few minutes after shifted into L, which already shifted it to a bit lower gear. I don't need the engine revving like crazy, just want a little engine braking. I wish I could select the lower gear instead of the...
  19. The “L”ow Down (shifting into L - Low when approaching a stop)

I've tried using "L" when going down a mountain near us on my EcoBoost, and it works nicely for a while, then it downshifts to a very low gear causing very high RPMs. I don't understand why it does this. On our RAV4 I can select the gear that I want, so I can gently hold back some speed.
