  1. My 17 day 5600 mile road trip in Maverick XLT Hybrid

Bushpilot, did you go up and down the coast???
  2. My 17 day 5600 mile road trip in Maverick XLT Hybrid

So you will also understand that after gassing up outside of St. Ignace, we crossed the bridge, took I75 south as far as St. Helen, took a side trip to visit my cousin, then came back west on 55 to 127, then 127 all the way south through the construction in Jackson, and on to our home in Adrian...
  3. My 17 day 5600 mile road trip in Maverick XLT Hybrid

I am still putting together the numbers, but I will report on my 17 day, 5600 mile trip. A few things I can tell you right now: - my finicky wife was totally, completely happy with the comfort of the XLT seats. We had a few long days but no problem. - From Michigan to Colorado, then to NM...
  4. XLT Wheels options?

Different pictures with different lighting make it look like different wheel colors. In the same vein, I had no idea what my HPR XLT would really look like until I got it. And what I have found is that it depends on the light. Sometimes it looks orange, sometimes it looks red. But always...
  5. Best Color for Value at resale?

I got Hot Pepper Red in part because I get tired of black/gray/silver/white variations. Car lots are all black/gray/silver/white with an occasional maroon thrown in. That's also why I got my Expedition in green. In 6 years of owning the Expedition, I've seen one other one --- drove by me on a...
  6. My Cyber Orange XLT Hybrid: 4000+ Mile Followup & Accessories

what is the brand name on that steering wheel cover. I definitely want that!
  7. $10K OVER MSRP???

A friend of mine works for a company that makes and distributes after market truck accessories. He knew I was going to get my Maverick for awhile now. So when I was showing him the truck last week, he says, "you cold make $10,000 on this right now". Of course, I paid sales tax, and...
  8. Had it 6 weeks now 5 l per 100

Awesome. I'm at 1,080 miles or so (1700 km?) and the thing I had to get accustomed to was the touch in the pedals. There is no idling creep like you get with a conventional engine, so as you know, when you take your foot off the pedal at a stop light, the truck just sits..... and then you push...
  9. Your price protection experience

I still am not sure why, but my dealer (Spirit Ford, Dundee, MI) was super about price protection. I ordered August 2021, put no money down. I got a little nervous a few months later, and via emails confirmed that the price is the price. As I've said in another thread, the only thing...

  11. Autorder dash cover, massive improvement over the Coverking

So you guys are telling me this is something you leave in place while you're driving???? second question: Doesn't this add to the heat gain if the Mav is parked in the sun for a couple of hours?? Last question: Is this kind of thing used while driving, and then one of those foil sun...
  12. Anyone like the dial shifter?

I've had my truck three weeks and I still can't find the choke!
  13. Mavericks make their Wedding Debut

Where was it held, Schrute farms?? :p
  14. MPG stats from 12 days 2804 mile vacation trip in my Maverick Hybrid XLT

Huunbuvu------ are you in Normal mode most of the time? I have put about 800 miles on my XLT hybrid and mostly on 2-lane roads, so I probably am at 60mph most of the time, but I have a cumulative 43.1 reading so far. AC on all the time. I use ECO mode most of the time, though. Thank you for...
  15. Only got to drive it 4.6 miles

Nah, your insurance will NOT cover damage to someone else's vehicle. Coverage for this accident would depend on determining who actually owned the vehicle when the accident happened. So if it was technically owned by the dealership at that point, then their coverage would pick up the accident...
  16. Got my Mav, still can't believe it went so well

No, they just did it and sort of half assed apologized but at that point, I wasn't going to sweat $250. Or whatever they charged. I mean, their documentation fees were nothin', so...
  17. Personal license plates / vanity plate for your Maverick??

If I were to get a vanity plate, I have been wanting to get I 1221 ME , that's letter I, like Illinois, then 4 digits, 1-2-2-1 and ME..... : 1221ME. It's my favorite cheap trick song: Eye One Two Two One Me. Say it fast.
  18. New member from Canada

Well, I'm biased, but in my opinion the extra wait for the hybrid is well worth it. I am about 1,000 miles in and my overall average is 43.1 mpg, or about 66 kilometers per US gallon.
  19. Maverick is Huge Disappointment 😉

Try premium gas next time. And make sure it is in "Sport" drive mode.
