  1. Instead of all the complaining....how about IT'S ONE HELL OF A SMALL TRUCK thread!

I've had mine 11 days. Yesterday, after 460 miles, I filled the tank for the first time. 10.75 gallons. So at $5.04 a gallon (I got lucky, and it was Marathon, a US company), it cost me $54 or so. In my Expedition, that would have been $110!! Comfortable, fun to drive, so far, love it. We're...
  2. Hybrid Battery Replacement Anxiety

2008 Prius, bought with 55,000 miles, sold with maybe 130,000 miles, never replaced the battery. Wife currently has 2017 Prius V, bought new, it's at 78,000 miles, no problems at all except replacing tires. She has a heavy foot and gets 43 mpg. By the way, she thinks the Maverick is WAYYYYY...
  3. This is why I bought a Maverick

Nice bike! I know a little bit about bikes - that Cannondale tandem cost almost as much as the Maverick! :ROFLMAO: I like the protective black mat. I'm probably the only poster who doesn't know what that is - the Ford mat? drop in liner? etc.
  4. Think Ive lost the excitment.

Nice stuff. I have noticed on classic car sites that some of the old, tamer Cuda's are not priced that badly. I mean, nicely restored or survivors for $12k to $15k. Best MOPAR I ever had was a 73 Ply Satellite wagon. 318. Floated down the road. Damn I wish I had that now. My last? a Stratus...
  5. Think Ive lost the excitment.

'Cuda, that's the way to do it. I haven't always been able to afford to order a new vehicle, but eventually I realized that in the long run it costs less than buying used every few years (especially now with the crazy pricing on used vehicles). The key to it, though, is knowing what you want...
  6. Think Ive lost the excitment.

Any day now, right? I didn't order the LUX package, maybe that's why I got mine a few weeks before you?
  7. Camping and first impressions

Oops sorry, I thought you had the hybrid. Yeah, ECO with tow package should handle that okay. Having said that, I have found I really have to drive like an old man to get anywhere decent mileage when I'm towing a camper with a high profile like that.
  8. Think Ive lost the excitment.

I think August is when the orders really started flying. I ordered my Hybrid XLT in late August, like Aug 25 or so.... and I received mine May 31. I think there was a huge difference between early August and late August. As for the mental aspect of handling the wait, I just told myself after a...
  9. Consumer Reports Talking Cars Review

If Honda or Toyota had come out with the Maverick, they would have been slobbering all over it. You can tell by the poor level of preparation these guys had that they are bargain basement, part time auto reviewers. Boring!
  10. Camping and first impressions

I routinely get 21 mpg in my 6-cyl Expedition, but when I pull my camper I drop to 10 or 11. It's all about wind resistance. So I'm not surprised your mpl dropped. Is that camper a little heavy for the maverick? I thought the tow max was 2,000 lb or something.... I am pretty sure that's a...
  11. Saw a Maverick up close and it looks small

5-10.5 and 188 pounds, but I was worried about my size 14 feet. No problem. I've only had it a few days but the head room is really fine. My wife is 5-10 and has no complaints. My friend wanted to drive it around the block, and I watched him leave an I noticed that although he is 5-11 and 200...
  12. Got my Mav, still can't believe it went so well

Fanatic, I am also happy with my Expedition. I just took it to Columbus and back, a lot of cruise control easy driving, and I did 388 miles at average of 25.4 mpg. I think I had a tail wind both ways!! :p
  13. Got my Mav, still can't believe it went so well

I was just there this morning, at the IHA offices at Domino's Farms. Had to see the dermatologist. When I left for AA my avg mileage was up to 32 or so, by the time I got back (80 mile round trip) I am up to 40.5 mpg on my first 100 miles.
  14. Got my Mav, still can't believe it went so well

I ordered my hybrid XLT in August of 2021, at Spirit Ford in Dundee Michigan. I walked out of there with a printed sheet showing my price, but I put no money down. In the next few months, I contacted them a couple of times, offered to put some money down (I felt it would make it more legally...
  15. First check engine light, hybrid xlt

I hve 85,000 miles on my Ford Expedition and I've never had a check engine light.
  16. Michigan roll call!

Okay, just saw this forum. I ordered my XLT Hot Pepper Red hybrid in August, it was delivered to Spirit Ford in Dundee, MI, today. I pick it up Tuesday, May 31. My sales lady was nice enough to send me a couple of pics. Damn, it's sweet. She also said she took it to gas it up, and 4 or 5 people...
  17. Anyone Else Getting Looks Wherever They Go?

    Sounds like Maverick envy.
  18. THIS JUST HAPPENED!!

What's ironic, to me anyways, is that when we were ordering our vehicles last year, Ford was putting out press releases saying they were transitioning to a sales process that EMPHASIZED "made to order", as a way to make sure we got what we wanted, and dealers didn't buy a bunch of boring builds...
  19. It's the final countdown, but I'm stooping to a new low

I think the people who used to write software manuals, or DOS instruction manuals are now writing car manuals. I think they should all take a cue from Ikea and write the entire manual with pictures. Of course, they'd have to re-name the vehicle "MAAVRIK" , right?
  20. How long ?

Ordered Aug 20, 2021; en route right now. Hope to have by June 6.
