This was a side-impact collision. I mean, the front end of your truck got smashed, but it was from the side. If you had hit something head on, so your forward motion was stopped by impact, your front bag probably would have gone off.
I'm not an engineer, but that was the original point of the...
Whoknew, enjoy the ride. You should learn to enjoy the ups and downs of waiting for your Maverick, but in the end it's a great, great feeling when you get it.
It's sort of like buying stocks, or putting money into a mutual fund ETF --- you do it knowing that the payoff is LONG into the future...
Sure --- although I was thinking that Cabela's parking lot might be more crowded on the weekends.
But anyway, it's just the start of an idea. If someone sets something up and it's in the general SE MI area, I'm sure I would come at least once.
I'm in Adrian myself, but anything between...
A Mavreick meet up would be cool. It would have to be somewhere big. Spirit Ford in Dundee is next to a Cabela's, which has a gigantic parking lot. I bet they would welcome us (Cabela's would) on a weekday evening, like some Wednesday 5-8 or something??????
I also just changed my avatar to a picture that came from my trip. I noticed that the MTC web site photo's seemed to feature a HPR Maverick in the mountains, so I thought I would change my signature pic. I think we were in SE Utah at the time, maybe Natural Bridge area??
I noticed for the first time yesterday that when I answered my phone on Apple Play in my Maverick, the fan speed went down so I could hear the phone better.
As I took the call, I thought nah, I'm just imagining it. But after the call ended, the fan speed kicked back up.
So am I crazy or is...
I did mine in July: MI to CO, the n NM, UT, ID, WY, MT, MN, WI and back through the upper peninsula of Michigan and back home (at the bottom of Michigan). 5500 miles in 17 days. We loved it.
Well thanks for your concern but we made it to the end of the trip, no problems. 5500 miles, 42.3 mpg cumulative. It was fun and we never got tired of driving the Mav. Seats were super-comfortable, too.
My original post was "5600 mile 17 day road trip".
But you are right --- especially in...
I think you're right, Jim. I think the way drag works with a lot of vehicles, it's a curve that curves up sharply as the speed increases. To state the same thing your graph is saying, between 30 and 40 mph, the air resistance increases very slightly, but between 70 and 80 it's more dramatic...
My wife loves her Prius V - sort of a Prius minivan. And it has pretty good interior room.
But after going on our 5600 mile road trip in the Maverick, she agrees it's way more comfortable than the Prius.
By the way, we bought her first Prius in 2010 because we were looking at used cars, and it...
So,. today life slowed down a little bit and I got around to computing my fuel usage on my trip.
The overall trip ended up being 5,550.3 miles, 133.837 gals of 87 octane used, for an average mpg of 41.47.
Some legs into a wind and uphill came in at 30 or 31, and some other legs at 47mpg+...
First off, I got a full tank of gas with my new truck. I had a good dealer.
Secondly, on my trip out West (5700 miles in 17 days), the fuel economy was great. We would drive all day, (e.g. from Minot, ND to Grand Rapids, MN) and then I'd fill it up the next morning and it would take 8.5...
Sorry to hear this. Hope they can do something to extend it. My wife's family gets it and she takes some kind of vitamins daily to preserve her eyesight. Wears sunglasses most days...
Hope for the best.
Hasn't been an issue with mine, and I used it for 17 days on a road trip out west; because the Mav has only one USB outlet, we had a 110-volt charger plugged into the outlet. It was handy and we had no issues.
I drive in ECO mode most of the time, and I also use cruise control about 70% of the time. Also, I have learned after driving for 49 years how to slow down and take it easy. I am retired so I am not driving to work in rush hour traffic.
On my trip out west, I did very little 80mph+ driving...
