In my opinion, a pat, seemingly indifferent, response, is every bit as upsetting as no response.
I do realize that the Ford representative cannot elaborate on...
It's likely the only design feature that I HATE.
I no longer live in the snowbelt, but if I did, I would much prefer a shifter than a knob: it's a lot easier to rock the truck out of snow with a shifter.
What I find interesting - which no one else mentioned: I thought that the majority of the auto industry made stainless steel, pretty much standard exhaust material, across the board.
If the Maverick has weepholes in the muffler, I am assuming that the exhaust isn't stainless.
I'm gonna get...
You might be right: it may very well be a molding error. Either way, beancounters p--s me off: yes, the vehicle has a low starting price; you can't get something for nothing; this is understood. At the same time, some of the "how to" articles show pieces that look a little chintzy - not in...
Great post, and I much agree. The reality is that the Maverick has balls: the rear bed has sturdy integrated frame rails, and the suspension is sturdy too: Ford did this truck right. Unfortunately, however, because of a handful of chintzy parts, the Mav might get an undeservedly bad rep from...
Rock or not, the plastic looks pitifully thin.
It's sad, actually.
And while I accept that the Maverick's low starting price requires that the truck use inexpensive plastics, there's no reason that it should be this flimsy.
Surely, in the future, the Maverick's detractors will use this as a...
Let me clarify: it makes sense that the Escape and the Mav share components; my question: do they share suspensions? What I cannot figure out, is how the Focus & the Mav are based on the C2 platform: they share neither the same structure, nor do they share the same suspension. What makes...
With all due respect: you can't be serious (?)
The fiberglass shell on a tractor has no strength, but you're talking about an extremely heavy vehicle, with thick steel girders which make up her frame, suspension, etc. - hitting a Maverick?
The Mav did extraordinarily well; if the Mav weren't...
This thread is very disturbing; a guy driving a Maverick drank too much. Yes...that was a stupid thing to do, but there isn't a person alive who's not done something stupid or regrettable, at one point, in their lives.
Some people are joking about take offs, etc...this is psychopathic.
As...
I am not being a jerk, but you do realize that most people don't go over a 4" lift; where did you get 6" from? In other words, where did that number come from? Is it an arbitrary number? Is there something that you wanted to do with the truck that can be accomplished with a 6" lift? Did you...
A lot of the homes in my area have gravel driveways; plus, with ramps, being that I work alone, I am always concerned about driving too far off the ramp, etc.; it's a lack of familiarity I guess.
I drive a lot, and I do my own oil changes. The one thing I hate about most cars, is that the low ground clearance prevents me from getting under the vehicle without the use of ramps and jackstands, and I would much rather scoot under the vehicle without having to lift it.
On paper, the...
EXCELLENT! Thanks for making/posting this!
That's why I like the Maverick: I don't like unitbody construction, but unlike Maverick's unitbody competitors, the Maverick has integrated frame rails built into the rear of the truck, like a full frame vehicle.
I *hate* and detest the knob; so much so, that I once wanted to start a thread on my dislike of it:
- It's much easier to rock a vehicle with a traditional shifter: you can shift through the gates via feel, instead of having to fuss with a stupid knob; the detentes on the Maverick's' knob look...
Does anyone else find it odd that dealers are starting to get delivery, yet I have yet to see *one* road test review from any of the online publications that I visit.
This is odd to me...anyone have any info or idea as to what's going on?
