  1. Give me buttons !

    Beautiful truck; best of luck!
  2. Give me buttons !

I am so averse to the 2025 Maverick's HVAC/Radio controls, that I am seriously looking at the Chevy Colorado, and Toyota Tacoma: both of which have a touchscreen, and proper knobs/switches. This is silly: the EU is laboring to move manufacturers away from touchscreens, because they believe that...
  3. 2025 Maverick Lariat Hybrid Review - by Ben Hardy

Three points of dislike: 1) I really dislike the new touchscreen radio/HVAC 2) The blue interior contrasts horribly with the green exterior; they need to offer other interior colors 3) That interior is ridiculous: it's an almost 40k truck; they should've spruced it up on the Lariat trim
  4. 2025 Maverick Sync4 Voice Commands (Not in Owners Manual)

Very much agreed. I feel that Ford's redesign was/is very foolish, and it definitely makes me think twice about buying a 2025.
  5. Old Truck New Truck: 2004 vs. 2024

I appreciate your feedback...thank you! I too, prefer the driving characteristics of the Sport Trac/Ranger.
  6. Old Truck New Truck: 2004 vs. 2024

Congrats on your new truck! I hope you have many trouble free years ahead of you... I had a 2001 Ranger, which I absolutely loved. Compared to the Sport Trak, how's the steering effort - (is it light/heavier) - than the Sport Trak? And how are the riding characteristics compared to the Sport Trak?
  7. What went wrong with the 2025 Maverick Front!?

Depending on the color, the front end looks not all that great to terrible; the HVAC controls are horrible, and the price increases are absurd. I *guarantee* that Ford will taut going back to knobs and switches, on the next gen Maverick. How am I so certain? Because that's the trend that other...
  8. Does Rotary Shifter suck?

Most everyone would prefer a traditional shifter over the rotary one. At best, most people have gotten *used* to the rotary shifter. Ford's own research with the Ranger indicated that truck buyers prefer a traditional shifter. But will Ford amend the design? Of course not. Just like European...
  9. 2025 Maverick Refresh / Facelift + Lobo ST Street Truck Undisguised & Revealed! (w/ Huge Display Screen)

I often read but seldom post. The redo finds me irritated. Why? Because I am a big Ford Truck guy, yet, across the board, Ford seemingly keeps making decisions that are, in my view, stupid: The Maverick outsold the Santa Cruz. Why? One reason is because the Maverick is more truck like. What...
  10. Spied: Maverick Refresh Lobo ST Street Truck Reveals New Vertical Grille Design & 13" Infotainment Screen

The new grille looks horrid: it can't be a production piece. And while the new screen is attractive, *why* is Ford rushing towards touch screen HVAC functions, while the rest of the industry is trending back to knobs? You can't text and drive, but it makes sense to glance at a screen to adjust...
  11. Headliner Check

I am very surprised that they let the vehicle out like that...
  12. What if Ford made the Maverick a premium truck?

I think they should keep the current formula, and make the changes that you've suggested to the Lariat trim: consumers need a low cost alternative. On the other hand, I do see merit to your suggestion, as (personal use) trucks have gotten absurdly large.
  13. Got my Maverick

Congrats! Yours is a very handsome truck, and the Area 51 paint color has significantly grown on me.
  14. My Ford Maverick EcoBoost caught on fire and exploded!!! 🔥

The OP never said how many miles he drove before pulling the vehicle over; was there a shoulder in the mountains to pull onto, etc? I wouldn't have done what the OP did, but at the same time, I wasn't in his shoes, and I think a few of the replies are worded strongly.
  15. YES! The Maverick has buttons!

The touchscreen craze is, by far, the dumbest thing yet: there are laws against texting and driving, yet automakers are applying the same technology to the instrument panels of vehicles. Moreover, touchscreens get fingerprints all over them, and require regular cleaning. Finally, although...
  16. Hybrid Maverick Lariat tows 3500 pounds

I seldom post, but I had to login to say that 22+ mpg is pretty damned good!
  17. Already got rear ended! [Updated #1 with frame / underbody photos] [Update #2: 6K repair estimate]

As for the Maverick, after seeing these taken hits, it makes me wonder if Ford hired Volvo engineers to design the thing.
  18. A Surprising And Enlightening Experience From First Maverick Road Trip

Handsome truck, and the mileage that you encountered is insane: did you head up 321 to the Parkway? I know that route, and it traverses all kinds of terrain (grades). Very impressive.
  19. 10,000 mile FoMav review by AMM [2022 XLT on 2” lift kit, Toyo Open Country, powdercoated OEM wheels, etc.]

I love it! I am seldom a fan of modded trucks, as I prefer the stock look. But I love the bronze factory wheels, the black paint, and the lifted look. If I could spec out my own truck, it would look exactly like yours.
  20. 2-Door, Standard Cab, 6-Foot Bed

I *love* the idea. While I am partial to Ford trucks, I don't like some of the quality related issues that I have seen as of late, so I am holding off for now. But a standard cab hybrid Maverick would garner my money asap: the Ranger is too big - especially in urban environments - and it's a...
