Looking to replace a 99 Buru that get's poor mileage and needs a bit of mechanical work. I know it would be more cost effective to put the money into fixing it up, but want to get something new(er) for my wife to drive that has better safety features. Thought about another hybrid but if I'm...
Washington state does "tax" hybrids, $75 dollars per year extra for registration, so we pay state gas tax (.554 cents/gal) on top of a fee for supposedly not paying our fair share of road maintenance. Feds are working on adding a tax for EV's and hybrids too.
Some of my old stick shift cars required me to use my left foot on the clutch, right toes on the brake, and right heel to goose the gas to keep the car from dying at an intersection :crackup:
Yep, and for their hybrid trucks I believe Toyota has gone for horsepower vs MPG. The traction battery is there but their fuel economy estimates are some of the lowest I've seen for a hybrid.
That's pretty cool - I like that you can disassemble for storage. I looked at your design and thought about welding something like that up, but then you are stuck with bulky "monuments" that you have to figure out what to do with when they aren't on the truck!
Well, if it's coming from AI it must be true!
I have the ford branded version and although I can see some vibration in the rear view I have never noticed it making noise. I do however usually have some music going so maybe that combined with my 70+ year old ear drums has kept it from becoming...
We are considering a 27 Bolt. Don't drive much so the economic case isn't very strong, but the 99 Buru is leaking oil bad and only gets about 18 MPG around town. Range/charging are good on the bolt and we have the Mav for any trip where we have charging anxiety.
As far as the Maverick hybrid...
It's really just a habit from I picked up from driving so many years/cars with manual transmissions. If you don't want to move with the engine running it's either neutral or the clutch. Clutch makes it hard to jup out and get the mail our of the box!
I'll try to remember to give the auto...
@HeyBales , it's a 24 XLT
@icegradner, I backed out of my garage and threw it in neutral to put my shades on. I rarely if ever leave it in neutral, and if you open the door while in neutral it apparently shifts to park unless you hit the low button, which I never have tried.
I saw this warning a few times and snapped a pic today. Apparently this is a known problem/issue/feature of some hybrids. Anybody know why we can charge in park but not in neutral?
Aluminum roll up or fold up? I'm guessing it folds at some joints? The soft covers sit on top of the rails and give you a little more height to cover up a load, but the extra inch and a half or so is really noticeable when you look out the rear view mirror.
I used my purchase points to get a soft cover from the ford dealership. Bought it online during one of their many sales and picked it up in Bellingham. Not too far of a drive for you but you would probably need to install it or hide it in the truck to avoid paying any tarifs!
Uhg, got my first tank of gas @ $4.999! Up 90 cents a gallon since early March and a dollar 40 since mid Feb. So very glad my truck is a hybrid and thinking of replacing our Buru (18mpg) with an EV!
