Our son lives on Camano Island and gets about half the rain we do. We drive up to his place to dry out! Good choice on thge AWD. I thought about waiting to get mine and going that way, but we have the Buru to get around when it snows.
Hauled some 12' metal extrusions. Had a red flag but pretty sure I was breaking a law or two. Made it home without any tailgaters getting skewered or any jerks changing lanes into it at high speeds!
If you think it rains in Redmond you should come visit me and my truck in Lynnwood. We are smack in the middle of the PSCZ (convergent zone) and get many more inches of rain than Seattle does.
PS, nice truck - enjoy! Is yours FWD?
Exactly! The internet is both beautiful and ugly, right and wrong. Luckily most of us can tell the difference, but large language models can not. You are what you eat! . ;)
You are so right! One of the biggest dangers of AI, other than the whole skynet thing, is people thinking the outputs they get are correct and they use them for something important! As my son likes to tell me, AI is prone to "hallucinations".
The other day I "googled" to see if our aluminum...
I'm guessing there is a difference between reset and relearn, but I am not sure. Sounds like reset does a reset of battery data and tells the battery the current charge is the preferred charge level, is that correct? And if the relearn is different, how so? I routinely leave my truck locked...
The guy at the quickie lube would probably use an impact wrench after he got done smoking a joint (or however they consume it now, it's been a while for me).
Not trying to be contrary, but the core pin is indeed threaded. They are meant to be pressed in for installation, but the pin can be backed out by turning it counter-clockwise. I verified this by visually seeing the pin is threaded, not serrated, and backing one out after pressing it in. This...
Next time I change my oil I'll try to remember to stick a magnet on the female threads. Having aluminum threads in the pan would be a very poor design decision!
I was not aware that the pan was aluminum. Do you know if the drain plug threads are aluminum or did they use a bushing/insert to make them more resistant to stripping?
+1 for the rivets recommended by @jfgesquire. Perfect fit and they look like parts Ford should have used in the first place. If I wasn't so lazy I'd just replace them all before they fail, but by the way the OEM parts look that won't be too long! Here is the broken part I found in my driveway
Pretty much the same thing happened to me. Truck would not start after about a week of not driving. After a jump I had similar error messages as you did - was pretty sure the truck needed a new engine or transmission! Took it for a drive and only had limp mode - man that is a weird...
