After reading about Mav's getting rear ended, I had a friend follow me to see if/when the brake lights come on. As soon as I apply any pressure on the brake pedal, just engaging the regen, the lights come on. I've never hit the "L" button, but eco regen without hitting the brakes slows me down...

Yeah , I was extolling the virtues of my hybrid to someone and they asked "so It saves you a bunch of money". I had to say "hell no! Between insurance and state fees I would have been far ahead just driving my Range"r. But then I wouldn't be saving the world!
