I don't know what articles you are reading, but I've had my truck for more than a year and always use 87 octane. The truck scoots just fine when you roll on the throttle. I'm not drag racing it or autocrossing it. Its a utilitarian vehicle, not a sports car. Around me, 93 octane fuel is at least...
I brought my Maverick home in May 2023 and didn't have to refill my wiper fluid until about a month ago. The light came on a few times, especially if the truck stopped on a downhill (front lower). That went on for about a two months before I actually topped off. I use mine sparingly and I don't...
In 2 years on this forum, I don't think I've ever seen anyone that has actually received any help from the "Ford Motor Company" account. They are always asking for your VIN #, and I generally ignore it. It may actually be monitored by a group at Ford, but I doubt they have any pull with...
Since it wasn't answered, OLM is for Oil Life Monitor. Standard abbreviation, even if Ford calls it something else.
On a side note, 60 pools per week and driving 600 miles doesn't seem like a side job after retirement, it sounds like you just took a 2nd career after retirement, unless it is...
I will agree with most that it is from an accidental push of the lock rocker. It happened to me a few times in the first month of ownership. Once I became aware, it hasn't happened again in 15+ months.
Your Toyota 2.7L had an extra 700 cc of engine displacement, which typically means more low end torque (before the turbo spools). If this is the first turbo engine you've owned, it is something you get used to. Roll on the throttle and it builds quickly. Just don't expect it to respond...
Remember that 2022 and 2023 Lariats had to upgrade to the Lariat Lux package to get Sync 3. It became standard on Lariat in 2024. So, some of the earlier Lariats (like mine) are affected by this.
The whole CTR infotainment system is a failure. I'm sure mine is on this recall list since I already received notice from CarFax about the recall.
The amount of times I've had to do the forced reset is ridiculous. Delayed reverse camera happens weekly. Freezes and pops from the audio weekly...
I'd relax about the 1st change. 2500 miles is a bit on the early side. I changed mine around 4K and I'm sticking to roughly that interval going forward, but I'm not going to loose any sleep if it happens to stretch to a 5K interval. The Ford maintenance minder will have you going 8-10k, but I...
You do realize that every State in the USA makes their own car insurance laws? There are 12 States that have No Fault insurance (like Quebec), and they do exactly that. You deal with your insurance regardless of who is at fault.
Looks like our smarter than smart OP was removed for inciting a riot amongst the Generation Boomers. Or maybe the Ford Engineers had him removed for bad advice.
The gauge should be calibrated to the volume of the tank and not to a linear drop of fluid height. That said, almost every vehicle I've owned takes forever to drop from full to 3/4, then it's faster through the remaining range. The exception was my Touareg, which would start dropping from full...
I don't think he is suggesting to lay it flat. With the rear seat flipped up, there is more clearance to the roof and/or door openings. It isn't restricted to the area between the seat and the center console. It can sit upright on top of the storage cubbies and possibly be angled to fit a wider TV.
Yep, you have to go to Ford's website to enter/upload receipts now. I do the same. I liked it better when I could snap a photo with the phone, and do it directly with the app.
I'm guessing it is a settings or permissions issue. There are some things that pop up on phone screen the very 1st time you plug in. You have to agree to them.
Also, some settings for USB can end up incorrect, like for charging only or something.
My Android updated the app and it now shows % of tank remaining. Overall, I prefer the app from several months ago, back when you could see mileage and other information like tire pressure on the main screen (or no more than 1-click). Now you have to click through a few to see mileage and tire...
I'm confused. Your profile says you live in Georgia. Unless you are setting the cabin temp to 85F, its gonna need to use the AC compressor. It hasn't been below 78 here for over a month! AC is pretty much always needed from April through November. Mine is always on and it is appreciated.
