I took my 2023 Ecoboost, Tow Package to the 1/4 mile drag strip tonight to celebrate 80,000 miles since I bought it new. It’s slower than I thought, but being 80* and 80% humidity doesn’t help.

I filled up with 93 octane, since I’ve only ever run 87 for the last 80k miles. I also drove in Sport mode to help the computer learn (?) it has good gas. The track is about 80 miles away. I only ran it 3 times, using 3 different electronic set ups.

first run was 15.054 @91.23 mph. I raced a dodge demon charger or whatever it was. Guess what? He won…lol. He was 11.941 @ 116.40mph. I ran Sport mode and Traction Control off.

second run was against a late model corvette…yup, he won. My 15.351 lost to his 11.840. I was in Tow/Haul and traction Control off.

Third run was 15.372 and I beat a guy in a Dodge 2500, Quad Cab. He did a nice burn out, while I drove around the water pit each run. The Dodge ran 16.757 @ 80.74 mph. He approached me in the waiting line and asked what motor I had. I told him I had a 4 cylinder and he asked me if I wanted to run him. I said sure. It slipped my mind to mention the turbo and all wheel drive……I ran Sport mode with traction control on.

fun time and I averaged 30mpg, just like the last 80,000 miles.

Nice runs by the F-150 and what looked like a BMW!! Your runs weren't bad for the humidity and I'm sure it was hot!! I ran these times with mine on 93 octane and sport mode but the temp was like 70 degrees and low humidity!! Mines an 2025 AWD XLT 2.0 EB made 3 runs 1st at top 2nd middle 3rd bottom!! Entry 61

I just stepped off the brake and mashed the gas pedal. I hadn’t thought of trying to spool up the turbo a little.

AWESOME !!! That's what it's all about. Having FUN!! Always been one of my motto's through life, take time to do the stuff you love, enjoy and/or want to do. Life's too short to live a dull boring unsatisfying life before leaving this world which could be at any moment.

I’m an old man, so I’m used to old fashioned stuff like carburetors and points, not turbos and computers.

I build junk like this:

1972, and my 68 Z28. Ran in Street Stock at Great Lakes.
Doesn't stop me from learning new stuff and I had to build something for retirement.

2017 F150 2.7 EB, mild tune at 450 HP/torque, 3.73 ELocker gear, CVF intercooler, tuned 6 speed auto, full Icon suspension and a ton of smiles! Thing is an XL 2wd and weighs as shown 4100 pounds. Scary responsiveness low 13 second 1/4 on a Draggy. Fast as the Z28 till it got a set of 4.88 gears, and way more practical!

nice

that’s how you do it. I’ll run about anything, about anywhere - this was in my wife’s Mustang. Small track, so I only got to 120mph

Love this .

I use to visit Speed World in the 1970s, great to see that it is still there and going. Got to drive my freinds 1948 Willys Jeepster, Yellow Ragtop, with a 455 Olds engine , 2 times , back then both times in the 11 second times.

Love the old days✌
