The board departure is the second significant leadership change at Slate in three months. In March, the company replaced chief executive Chris Barman with Peter Faricy, a former Amazon Marketplace vice president who had been advising Slate alongside work with McKinsey and Bessemer Venture Partners. Barman moved to the role of president of vehicles.

The Slate will not be a real day to day vehicle. It will be cheaply made and project that by how it looks. The Ford EV truck will hopefully fill the need of a "real" EV truck at a reasonable price ($35,000?). Unless the Slate truck is well under $25,000 no one, with any sense, will throw their money away on this thing.

I have worked in the robotics industry...and from what it looks like...with probably no welding to complete, it is probably a fairly simple robotics network of fasteners and gluing parts together. I'd predict the Slate will have to come in very low $20K to make a dent on the market...I can see a decent market for delivery/service call vehicles. My neighbor has a pool service business with a dozen service trucks (Mavericks Hybrids) and is carefully watching the EV Slate.

I just seen this for the Slate truck. I took a screenshot because I have no idea how to share links but with a $300 non refundable deposit you can get this tiny truck with less amenities than my 1991 Camaro for mid to high 20's no thanks! I'd happily buy another Maverick for over 30k again if I was in the market for another truck.

I like the mid $20k range sits at $25k. $25.1k would be upper $20s. Maybe they should start in the lower $20s at $24,999.99. The Maverick original base was “under” $20k so $19,995 ($1,995 for the original 1970 Maverick coincidentally).
And another thing… just charge me $4 for a gallon of gas… stop with the $3.999 crap. Do you think we’re idiots? (Don’t answer that).
