I have a bed mat that was made from old tire materials. It's great because things don't slid around on it.

Looks good. I’d be worried that it’ll get wet and hold water and I use my bed for too many things that would soil and make the bed rug rather gross.

But you did a great job with the install. Well done.
I've had my bed rug for at least a year and have had not problems with it getting wet. Of course having a tri-fold tonneau cover is essential. Unless one lives in an area that gets a high amount of rain, I think you'll be ok.

My 2024 XLT came with the drop in bed liner and I'm not really a fan of it. Before I bought it I had tossed around the idea of getting spray in and throw a mat down for protection but have seen a lot of folks say they really like bed rugs. I was going through the Ford accessories trying to figure out what to spend my rewards points on and saw the bed rug and decided to get it.

Arrived today so I ran out and picked it up. I was concerned that with my retractable tonneau it might be a pain in the arse to remove the bottom tray. Wasn't too bad, just had to take out the two hex heads in the corners and the lower rear tie downs in the back and the bed D-rings up front. Then it was a matter of manhandling the liner out from underneath the side walls. Tailgate part was just 8 star head bolts and the sink washers. (note: I got lucky I had some regular washers that fit to reinstall the plate that covers the latch mechanism that the liner is mounted to.)

After cleaning out some pine needles and debris and drying out the bed, I got to installing the rug. Putting it in, the hardest part is the fact that it was rolled up in the shipping box and does NOT like to flatten out.

The bed rug comes with industrial hook and loop strips, 2 long ones for the bed and a bunch of short 2" strips for the tailgate. I initially installed it without the bed strips and it slid into place super easy, but decided that was probably a mistake. So I lifted it up, eyeballed where they should go, laid them out, the tried to get the liner back in the right spot. It's much harder once the hook and loop is in place because it's very grabby, and very strong. But some wrestling and I got it in.

After that it was just a matter of lining up the hook and loops for. The tailgate. What I did for that was I attached the small pieces to the loop strips on the bed rug, then took the backing off the bottom strips and laid the rug in the right spot and pressed down to glue the strips to the bottom of the tailgate. The I did the same with the top. They lined up perfectly.

Whole project probably took an hour by myself, though part of that was cleaning the bed and drying it after removing the liner. And looking for washers that fit.

Extremely happy with the final product. SO much easier on the knees if I'm climbing around in the bed (which I've started to realize is pretty much only when I'm installing stuff like the tonneau and the liner...), cargo doesn't slide around, and I feel like it will actually protect the bed much better. I may eventually still get a spray in and then put this in over the top, but as Billy Blazejowkski would say "this one's better because it's free".

Looks good. I'm very satisfied with mine. Sure is a knee saver not to mention protecting items that you don't want scuffed up and damaged.

I had a 2001 Ranger with a DIBL. Pulled it out 20 years later and there was hardly any, mostly at the front end of the bed. Certainly not rusted out.

If you scratch it, it will come.

I have a bedrug in our Ram 1500 since 2019 and love it so much that I put one in the Maverick.

However I am having trouble with the Maverick bedrug being wet all the time. The rug itself isn't the problem - it's basically indoor/outdoor carpet anyway. It's a woven plastic. But I put some luggage back there for a trip last week, and after a 12 hour day the rug made the luggage so wet that the clothes were wet inside of the luggage. That never happened with the Ram.

So I'm not sure how to control the water - I don't really know where it's coming from. I sealed the leading edge of my Revolver X4S tonneau cover (as everyone does) and the two plastic joint areas on top of each bed rail, but that didn't solve it. I bought a tailgate weatherstripping kit from Amazon that I haven't installed but hope it helps.
An update on my moisture situation is that I'm now also noticing condensation on the inside bottom of the tonneau cover. I'm actually thinking now one reason I'm having the moisture issue with Maverick and not with Ram is that the Revolver X4S tonneau cover is too sealed, and there's not an airflow to dry it out when needed.

Why not just get a Bronco sport? If you wanted a carpeted, weather protected storage area, the Bronco would give you more cargo space and better weather protection than the tonneau cover can.
Bronco Sport doesn't give me 53 overall mpg average with 70-80mpg on my work commute.

I hadn't intended on carpeted cargo space per se. I didn't like the drop in and saw a lot of recommendations for bed rugs. Had more than enough points to get one for free so decided to check it out.

I can open or take the tonneau off for more space, and keeping stuff dry isn't as important as keeping it secure when I need to, the tonneau I have does an excellent job of both. Plus, it would be a lot more difficult hauling 2x4's, plywood, soil, gravel, trees, and other gardening stuff with a Bronco Sport.

The box in the back resides there mostly just in the winter as I do a fair amount of snowshoeing on the other side of the pass from where I live and I like to keep my chains, a couple of tarps, a shelter, some blankets, stove, camping meals, etc. handy in case they close the pass and I need to stay the night. It's just bungied in place and slides out with little effort if I needed more room. The versatility is where the Maverick really was the best option for my needs. The only minor regret I sometimes have is not having waited for a 2025 AWD hybrid, but I'm still happy as can be with my little rig.

The BedRug looks great! You gotta love that extra comfort on the knees when loading up gear.

I have the shitty OEM drop in bedliner, I would much rather have a spray in but I rarely if ever haul anything in my truck so the drop-in will do fine.
I wish all manufacturers would do away with the drop in bedliners and just do spray ends only. Everybody knows the damage the drop-ins do over time to the paint if the bed is actually used.

owning a Lariat with the factory Spray-in Bed Liner... no complaints. However, I did finally order a BedRug today... Will grab it in January when I'm N.o.B. again.

We transport folks and the pups here in Mexico alot and I'm already regretting not having bought one before we left AZ last week.

From what I understand these are not susceptible to holding water and rotting. They are marine grade carpet. But I will probably go with a spray in next year and get rid of the drop in part and put the bed rug on top of the spray in.
I have the same bed rug over top of the ford spray in liner. I really like it and it is nice that it velcroes in and I can remove it if i am going to do a messy haul of something.

I have never had a spray in bedliner, but have had the drop in. Doesn't the spray in keep things from moving about inside the bed? Won't slide, etc?
It doesn't do as good as you'd expect. Even a rubber mat would do a better job.
