Thank you! I just got off the phone with Select Auto Protect (#1 on their list), they offer "bumper-to-bumper" for 5 years after the manufacturer's warranty expires, 100K miles, for $2400-something, $200 deductible. He said he would add one "free" year, which makes it 6 years after expiration.

Granger Ford offers much cheaper deals (note that their coverage starts at the purchase date, so "10 years" means "7 years after manufacturer's warranty ends). So to compare apples-to-apples, here is what you'd get for the same exact term:

I think comparing multiple plans is the only way to go, just like with car insurance. I want to walk into my dealership with two or three quotes for comparison before I sit down with the F&I folks. If the dealership meets or beats my quotes, I'm more than happy to go with them. (It's also worth noting that this does not appear to be a decision you need to make at that moment anyway.) Same with the car loan and trade-in.

I just checked and mine has now switched over to Built! But with a date of yesterday... weird. Still, good news is good news.

Same exact plan here.

For car insurance, I use a broker who does the shopping for me. I pay nothing for her services, she gets commissions from the insurance company I end up going with. Very convenient, saves me time and money. I wish something like that was available for extended warranty... 🙂

Looks like what? A three day delay between being built and shipped? If that's normal (I haven't been paying attention to that), I might see shipped by the end of the week.

I drive less than 6k a year. It woul take me several years to obtain 36K, but to each his own. For me, too many commercials means they are out to make a killing.
There is also a time element to the B2B warranty. I also only drive around 6K miles a year. At the end of December my 3 years is up even though I only have 19K miles on the vehicle.

In the end I think the extended warranty is just a personal preference. Some people feel it is unnecessary while others see the value in it. I think the vehicle in question also plays a roll.

My other vehicle is a Mustang Mach-E GT Performance and in another year its 3/36K B2B is up. The repair prices I've seen over on the Mach-E forum are INSANE for Fords first ever EV.

When cars were mechanically and electronically simple, I felt it wasn't necessary.
The first time I purchased the extended coverage was in 2022 for the Stinger GT2 - a lot of complexity in that car.
Now, the Maverick is almost as advanced, minus the turbos, head-up display, and cooled seats. So I am definitely not going to gamble. For the peace of mind, under $3K for 7 extra years is a no-brainer.

Could you please elaborate, @Ozarkbeard ? How do I know what Granger Ford in Iowa sells them for?
And if not from a dealer, then whom? There are many 3d-party providers, are there any reputable ones you'd recommend?
I would not buy any 3rd party warranty. Get a genuine Ford extended warranty. Granger Ford in Iowa sells them on their website: https://grangerfordextendedwarranty.com/
Good at any ford dealership. If you live in FL or Cali, use a friend or relative's address. You cannot buy one from any dealer except in your state. Ford warranties can be use at any dealer, though, regardless of where you need service.

Granger's Ford warranty will be added to your VIN in Ford's system. So any dealer will see it if you take it in for warranty work.

Thank you, that's what I will do. I checked a couple of reputable third-party providers, they are way more expensive compared to Granger Ford, kind of defeats the purpose.

Not sure if there are any rules against MN 🙂 Hope not.

NO. Only Calif. & Fla. And an easy workaround for those residents, using a friend's address in another state.

Since you know so much about their coverage, do you know if there is any liability/lifetime maximum? Cannot find that information in their FAQ section. Thanks!
Your questions are really hijacking this thread about truck shipping. You should start your own thread about warranties.

Why don't you call Granger?
