I have 20 years of purchasing and selling vehicles and equipment both for personal and business use, at least several dozen vehicles In that time.
This Maverick ranks as absolutely one of the top purchases I have made. I have several favorites, but this truck has outperformed my expectations.
I never really gave the Maverick a shot until a neighbor purchased a few for his business and reported some pretty good MPG. I do a fair amount of driving, around 5K a month, So I snagged one 4 months ago.
My driving is primarily highway, maybe 20% city. I'm a contractor so even with all of my tools fully loaded in the rear seat and in the bed I've still been able to average about 38 MPG over 21k. I towed a 5x8 covered trailer about 1k (which is the equivalent of holding a sheet in the wind) and still got 28 MPG. This is all from my calculations which are lower than what's on the dash.
I have to say I did not expect anywhere near these numbers, I'm beyond impressed. This little truck drives like a car but still has enough juice to keep up with my F-150. The versatility is astounding. Sure. I get some sideways looks by my buddies on the job sites but this thing easily saves me a couple hundred dollars a month on gas
.
Kicking myself for not buying one earlier! The absolute only thing I wish with all my heart is that the bed was 6 in longer. That would make this truck absolutely perfect.
