Here I went from ecoboost to hybrid.

I had a tremor so definitely an efficiency thing. Also I filled my ecoboost with 93 so I was actually getting all 250 hp as opposed to the 225 or so with 87.

Ultimately for me the efficiency, cost to own, longevity of drivetrain, and the increased towing capability over tremor made it a no brainer for me.

but the EB is really strong and both are fine choices.
Well as luck would have it … I found a perfectly matched EB twin my Alto blue lariat 2022 hybrid on a local dealer lot … it’s also a 2022 and has fewer miles. So I am going to drive the EB and if I like it, will see how it will cost me to swap. 😳

So I went to the dealer and drove the Alto blue Ecoboost 2022 Lariat. Aside from the fact that sales manager wanted a ridiculous amount of dough to make the trade, I ended up liking my hybrid with CVT just as much as the EB. It’s not quite as fast but it’s smoother and doesn’t search for shifts. Guessing i will just keep my current truck and get used to the slight wheel spin on wet pavement. Thanks for everyone’s input. It’s been a fun thread!

Probably one of those things where once you get used to it one way the other way ( shift searching) becomes more noticeable

I never see the need for more power on street driven vehicles.
Where are you racing off to? I'll see ya at the next light. I so rarely need to floor any vehicle, but the hybrid is no slouch.

I guess I do other things for excitement instead of speeding around town like a ____ ___.

Curmudgeon here at 43, I guess.

We own both, i drive a 22 xl ecoboost on shadow black and my wife drive's a 24 xl hybrid in hot pepper red. I like the power and pep of the ecoboost with the turbo, while still getting 29-30 mpg. My wife likes her hybrid getting 44-45 mpg so both are great trucks you just have to decide what is more important to you power or mpg.

Have you experimented with the drive modes? they change the power delivery a lil bit. Might help with traction.
