Must be nice to buy 3 times, because my transaction cost is very high. Between dealer fees, sales tax, tags, local registration and personal property tax we're talking at least $3k, probably closer to $4,000 per purchase.
I paid sales tax on my bronco and my Tesla but I made money on my CRV hybrid, Bronco, and Maverick so it easily absorbed the sales tax paid on the new vehicle.

Of that $8,600 I got back $5k was actually profit from all other transactions. My civic has lost $5k in value so when I trade it in on the 2025 maverick I’ll basically be back to even.

its really not a bad deal to have driven 4 new vehicles for what amounts to pretty much free for 3.5 years.

Three years ago, I bought a Subaru Outback because Mavericks were hard to get in a timely fashion. Like you, I just sold the Outback to Carvana (Driveway.com made a similar offer, but I had a positive prior experience with Carvana). I have an AWD Hybrid on order.

We have a new 2025 Maverick hybrid on order.
If you don't mind me asking, is that the main reason you sold your 2022 one, and not anything that you didn't like about it?
I have a 2025 Maverick Hybrid on order, too, but that's the first one for me. 🙂

We love the Mav. We just felt that even though the 2025s have gone up in price, the tradein values for Mavs are probably at the highest level it will be due to more competitors coming on line and Ford pushing more inventory out there. Also, starting the clock over on warranties, tires, etc seemed to make some sense to us. We always keep our vehicles for long periods of time (our other truck is a 2012 F-150 we bought new) so it is unusual for us to trade in this quickly, but we felt like it was the right thing for our situation. Good luck with your '25. I'm sure you'll love it.

I have a fully loaded 2023 Lariat hybrid with 33k miles on it, and I'm only getting offers for $21-23k, so getting $24k is definitely good. I thought about ordering a 2025 because it has all the things I was missing from mine, but the truck value is depreciating so much (at least here in FL) and I had so many issues, I'm probably just going to keep it for a couple more years and get something else unless they improve the reliability and change out the seat material.

OP is averaging 8k mi a year and you are double that at 16k annually. I'm about 14k a year at least. Anything over 12k a year will just kill resale value. Very few want a high mi 2023 that's reaching warranty, unless it's deeply discounted. Bring it to DC if you want to sell it. Still a market here. Take the auto train.

if you meant 2026, we'll find that out in 10 months or so.

They aren't. So even though the Mav gets phenomenal gas mileage, no "green" credit for us.

Yeah I almost used it last year as I had another on order in PA, but it took too long to come in. The only good thing is I got my truck for $4500 below MSRP and sold my Rav4 to Vroom for a good price so I only owe $17k on it. The plummet in resale value definitely hurts though. Especially with all the things I did to the truck afterwards, putting another $3-4k into it.

We contacted Carvana this week and sold our 2022 Maverick hybrid to them. Settled on $24K. We had a good three years (almost) with it and put 23K miles on it, so we were happy with the deal (it was just the stock hybrid model with the XLT package; nothing elaborate that would raise the initial cost a lot over the original $19,999 list price). It went very smoothly with everything on line, we dropped it off, they put an OBD reader on it for a bit and found no issues, and gave us our check. So our Maverick days are over.

But wait, there's more. We have a new 2025 Maverick hybrid on order. Since we didn't absolutely need the 2022 for the next few months, and I was worried about being t-boned and getting nowhere near $24K from the insurance company, we thought it would be better to be safe than sorry. So I'll continue to lurk on here until our new ride comes in, and hope for the best for everyone no matter what year or ride you have in the Mav family.
Sounds familiar. I did about the same, a 22' XLT, eco boost, hot pepper red, 13K miles, tricked out, carvana gave me 25K and came and got it. I had it exactly 2 years. Now, I wait for the 25' hybrid to be built. You did well.

Posting here for some advice. I haven't been on this forum much over the last year plus.

I too am considering selling my 22 Maverick Hybrid Lariat Lux + Moonroof + CP 360. While I love the car, I am moving "downsizing" and the new location (townhouse) limits me to a two car garage (which in reality can only hold one car) plus a two car driveway. [Rant on: My F150 doesn't fit lengthwise in the garage - but would if it were 2" deeper. Ugh.]

I currently have four vehicles, not counting a tractor or 20' utility trailer: The 22 Maverick, a 21 Bronco Sport Badlands, a 2015 F150 XLT (4WD), and a garage queen (94 Camaro Z28). I'm using the F150 to move things, so getting rid of that (at least right now) isn't an option. My son has claimed the 21 Bronco Sport but still requires driveway space.

So, I'm thinking about selling the Maverick now (as the market is still decent for it), and after completing the move selling the F150 (won't need it to move wood I cut) and ordering a new Maverick (Hybrid + AWD). Having AWD (as I still will be living where winter comes) but with the really good gas mileage is a plus for me.

My question is around how crazy is the ordering process on these now? When I ordered the 22 in July 21, I finally got it in April of 2022. I was lucky in that I did the Horsham deal at 4% off invoice, and they treated me well (no games). (Given that in April it will no longer be under warranty is also a driving force given it was the first model year.) Not having it for 3-6 months would actually be an advantage as it would be one less vehicle to move 500 miles (but having to pay close to 40K for a new one won't be so nice). If I sellnow I will pocket about 21K (I had a 3 year 0% loan on it w/5 payments left) that I would use toward the new one.

Thoughts?

ETA: Fixed order/delivery dates.

order banks are low and inventory of leftover '24 XL and XLT is relatively high.

if you order a lariat hybrid it'll get scheduled fast. if you order XL hybrid it probably will take a good while, but it of course depends on what's in your dealership's order banks.
