Definitely. They'll likely need to shampoo all fabric items and literally wipe and disinfect everything else. Also, they will probably need to run an ozone machine in there for awhile. Ugh, so sorry man.

Spend the money and buy a ozone generator. When used regularly it will keep your vehicle smelling new.

Just follow the directions when us I need it.

Why should he have to buy anything? This is a defect from the manufacturer and should be covered under warranty. The dealer should take care of this.

Valid point, but I would still press the dealer to do the repairs and thorough cleaning first.

As would I, but I honestly doubt a dealer has the proper equipment to mitigate mold.

If they don't, they need to hire a specialist or outsource it. Dealerships outsource work all the time for things they can't handle in house.

Dealer confirmed it's the CV axles and said the evaporator is causing the leak. There is a backorder on the axles so putting me in a loaner. The tech mentioned that the carpet is so damaged that it started molding and they are going to do mold remediation and replace the carpet as well. Thought I would have to fight them on something but looks like they are fixing everything completely. Fingers crossed at least

I think you have it backwards. Corporate companies with shareholders go with the lowest prices to maximize profits for shareholders. The government doesn't have an issue with spending money to buy expensive military weapons and ships, the highest paid senators and congressmen, and overspend on projects to the point were it balloons the original estimates.

That is why a brand new Ford Maverick will leak water into the interior of the car causing mold and other damage because of cheap plastic and assembly.

Just got my 2024 XLT Hybrid back from the dealer for a water leak. As a recap, only a few weeks old and discovered a pool of water under the floorliners I put in. Managed to get the original dealership to take me in despite there being a backlog of customers waiting for other repairs. What was on the service summary was:

Water leaking in through HVAC Box, down past the BCM and onto the passenger floorboard. Lower Cowl seal for the cabin air intake defective. Removed engine bay cowls to access defective part. Damaged seal caused water leak and is apart of the lower cabin air intake cover.

The dealership did keep my car for several days and had fans blowing on it to dry out the floorboard and as far as I can tell, it's dry now. I was concerned it was going to smell like mold but I'm happy to say that when I picked it up today, it still has the new car smell.

It's going to rain this weekend so I'm going to take it out for a long drive to see if everything is sealed tight or if there is still a leak. Crossing fingers.

Did they replace #18D395 inlet screen gasket or another ? They did this on mine . Sounds like we had a similar issue.

No idea. They didn't specify any parts on the repair order.

Just bought a brand new 2024 XLT Hybrid. We had some crazy rain storms, and there was a puddle of water in the driver's floor board. I've had it a week. I want to cry. Have any of your leaks been completely fixed? I've heard nightmare stories about having to take the truck in 10 or more times.

Mine was fixed completely but the leak was on the passenger side. That's where I've heard most of the leak is from, a poorly installed cowl on the passenger side. I've not heard of any driverside leaks. Did you buy your Maverick new or used? If new, take it back to the dealership ASAP!
