I seem to finally be teetering on the edge of ordering!

I need to get my wife to a lot so that she can actually see some eruption green paint in the sun. One local dealer has videos, but they really don't show the change in lighting in the brief moment.

It appears that granger can order a 25 for me for less than the local folks can will sell a 24. I suppose I should bounce granger's sheet off a couple of them.

I guess I could save a couple of thousand on the XLT with luxury, but I'll most likelycave and pay the extra for lariat for the couple of extra safety features. No options over lariat; the 4k wouldn't be enough to tow anything I'd likely tow, anyway! (the curb weight of a '72 Eldorado convertible is just shy of 2.5 tons before a traile!)

So go ahead and start the pool on when I do it!

My understanding is that we will have to wait longer for fulfillment rather than purchase it off the lot when they arrive. That is why I’m not putting in an order for the 2025. Nursing my current car along after deer strike.

Can you elaborate on this?

I would highly advise considering the 4k tow. Things may change and you could need or utilize it down the road. Also in resale some would not even consider it without the 4k tow package. So in essence increasing demand for your vehicle. Just a few things to consider.

I've only had the Lariat trim ['22 Lariat EB and 24 Lariat hybrid] so I can't compare to XLT.

While making my purchase decison, XLT w/lux v. Lariat, I considered we would use it as a trip vehicle because we can take our bikes in the bed. I seldom tow.

That decision was validated a couple of weeks ago when we took our first 1,000 miles road trip. The hybrid Lariat was very comfortable and quiet and a joy to drive for long stretches.

I sprung for the Lariat to get items like the acoustic windshield, SiriusXM, the quiet Michelin tires, the manual 6 way adjust passenger seat and the remote power sliding rear window. I found the ActiveX upholstery to be comfortable with outside temp showing 102F. and A/C set to 70F.

Orders are scheduled 1-2 months in advance of production. November is already fully scheduled. Shipping can take a month more or less depending on location. An order placed now won't deliver until January-February timeframe. 2025 customer orders are only a small fraction of previous years. There will be 2025s on the lot before year end. Depending on what configuration someone wants, should be easy to find one on the lot.

But since we know a vehicle is not an investment, buying extras upfront to get a partial return down the road is a fools decision. Nothing in a car is worth throwing good money at for a depreciated return later.

I didn’t teeter on my purchase, I ordered a 25 hybrid AWD as soon as I was able to. No buyers regret from me.

That's fine but buying a vehicle unless your willing to purchase in a few years and re-invest 35000 to 40000 after taking a bath from having to sell or trade in a new vehicle and now it's used has to or should be considered. For the additional cost but also getting additional options to help keep the vehicles components cool should also be a consideration.

I understand what your posting on resale. Let's be honest if looking at a vehicle resale is always a consideration before buying and that decision usually influences that decision. If you were buying a vehicle that history says it will lose 50% of value the minute you drive it off the lot. This may and has decided others to purchase a different vehicle. You may be not so much but others yes

I see what you mean. Downside of buying on the lot would be dealer markup (if this is still a thing?) and not getting exactly what you want. Weigh those factors vs waiting a few months. I expect the response will vary depending on individual preference and situation.

To further your point, id be surprised if any 2025 are on lot before year end. I'm estimating 6 weeks of testing to avoid recalls and a month for shipping. This puts November builds into January or possibly February for delivery unless I'm missing something...

Less than crack Russian not-so-elite unites have infiltrated Canada. For reasons incomprehensible to most people, they are making sub-sonic ballistic launches of captured deer into the United States. no-one knows what they are really aiming at, but they keep hitting small trucks.
🤪 :ROFLMAO:

[when I was in DuBois, PA, you could tell when deer season rolled around simply due to the sheer number of banged front ends on cars. My wife had to stop a couple of times a week in the two mile drive to the kids' school . . .]

I just can't think of anything I might conceivably tow that's less than three tons. I suppose I could flat tow the Miata, or tow one of my Northstar Cadillac's that's just under two tons before another ton for the trailer, but . . .

Besides, unless I get distracted by something like a '53 Mercury convertible, I'll probably be buying a Powerboost F-150 for myself in the near future [still need clarity on whether the KR seats massage, and similar for the full recline if they ever ship] . the Maverick is for my wife; It would take pillows for my left leg to drive the maverick for more than an hour or two (I can't fully extend it, and the lack of tilt seats means the vehicle can't support it). All that's really holding back the F-150 purchase is waiting to see what/if/when the Ramcharger does. If priced like a powerboost, I'll probably buy it; if priced like the Silverado lightning, forget it!

I do want *all* of the safety stuff. Also want the luxury stuff.

Like I need encouragement for this any more than Bluto does to do something stupid . . .

If resale value risk were an issue, leasing would suddenly become desirable. (and if I go with the dodge (whatever it identifies as), I'll probably lease.)

actually, I very much like the idea of the extra cooling.

I wonder how they'd react if I asked for the 4k package but with hitch delete?

🤔

Why would you delete the hitch? When you resell it the next owner will certainly appreciate it. It is a truck after all.

I'm on my fourth Maverick. I made a small profit on the ones except the one I got in an accident with. One of the reasons I'm driving a Maverick.
