Good morning all
This post is to let anyone who may encounter my issue now.
My wife and I purchased the truck in May 2024. It now has 4970 miles and had our first issue Sept 10th.
When we attempted to reverse out of the driveway, with the foot firmly on the brake and the start button engaged, the truck unexpectedly rolled out of the driveway. This alarming incident poses a significant safety risk, as the brake pedal was fully pressed, yet the truck was in motion.
I drove back into the spot. Multiple check engine lights came on, and the ABS and parking brake faults were on.
I drove around the neighborhood troubleshooting. The brakes would sometimes work, super grabby, or not at all, so I used the E brake switch to stop.

I called Ford and had it towed the next day. It is currently still in the shop. They gave us a rental car, thinking it was a faulty Electronic brake booster controller.
Still waiting on ETR.

My wife and I couldn't be more grateful that this happened in our driveway; this could have been a serious accident if it was to occur on the freeway.

Yes you should report it to the NHTSA
I don’t know if Ford would do it.
If it happened to you there are probably others. For a safety issue like yours, if a faulty part or software is found, it will generate a recall even if it is a small number of vehicles.

I feel lucky. The only issue I've had was with my radio freezing up and not having any of the buttons work. Reading some of other more serious issues happen I just feel lucky and hope it continues that way for me. I'm glad no one was injured with your incident.

OP, glad no one was injured in your incident.

Fortunately, I've had absolutely no mechanical or electrical issues with my Hybrid in one year of ownership.

What others are saying, go to nhtsa.gov. In the upper right corner there is a rectangular box around the words "report a safety problem".

I read this forum every day, and this is the first time I've heard of this problem. Again, I think there is to many things on todays vehicles that rely on electronics that can cause problems we can't over ride. Hitting the brake pedal, should stop the vehicle even when all electrical conections are lost. I'm not a fan of "Drive by wire" technology.

It bothers me that critical functions like brakes, acceleration, transmition, and steering are all computer controled now. Steering wheel is no different then a joystick on a game controler as well as the rest I listed above. Those functions should remian mechanical. Too many things can go wrong with firmware, software and logic boards to continue to have those system reliant on computers.

Update:
We received a phone call today. They replaced the Electronic Brake booster (EBB) and cleared the codes, but they came back with the same issues still present. They are continuing to troubleshoot.

At what point do I begin thinking about a lemon law attorney? I think this truck has become unreliable for my family or vacation trips.

This is the second brake failure Post in a day. Both Hybrids. The other poster crashed into a restaurant.

This is very serious.
